I love Chris Stanley and I love East Side Dave. However I have one huge problem with this duo. They don't really throw each other under the bus, ever. They always have each others' backs. Now, I'm sure that makes for a great work environment, and a great friendship, but I miss that tried and true source of Ron and Fez conflict.
Just to give this thread some type of direction:
What were your favorite moments of producers (and interns) backstabbing and fucking with each other? Obviously Billy Staples shitcheck was legendary. Rory constantly taking things Staples said in confidence and bringing them on the air.
Wonderboy versus Stifler over some girl was also a classic argument. I know only one was a producer, but I'm still going to count it. A minor confession. I never heard the actual fight. There appears to be a gap in my downloads. Did they ever actually have a boxing match? What was the outcome?
So what do you got?

maybe my favorite era of the show was the transition between NYC and DC. there were many weeks they did they show from NYC, but were only live in DC. other weeks they were in DC for the week, and they brought the staff with them. Rory and Billy train and hotel stories are some of my favs.

I'm actually listening to those shows for the first time right now, since I was not hip to the "underground" feeds at the time (March 2003). That is exactly why I started this thread.

Ah, yes. The "silent spanker" era.

agreed. for my money, i thought the "fastest hour in radio" was brilliant. fez reporting, ron commenting. i'm telling you, i go back to listening to arthur godfrey with my mother at a very early age and continue to this day to be a huge radiophile, and for my money the "fastest hour" was the best fucking radio i have ever heard-- bar none.
quick paced, interesting, clever, and most of all very very funny.
it seemed during the wjfk era they were really trying their hardest, and at the same time there was an edge on terrestrial radio that was not heard from any other radio guys other than them,Stern, and O and A until they got banned.
one of my favorite memories was when one night i called in and suggested they have callers call in with their favorite porn web sites. undaunted, they ran with the bit until a suit apparently called in and told them to stop. not becasue i was involved, but the idea that they would actually try this on terrestrial radio was incredible now and at that time.
the boys still are still knocking it out of he park. especially with FW seemingly getting back his fastball (enough baseball references?).
