When I lived in the city, it was a 5 minute walk round trip.

There aren't any drifters, no random neighbors, or activity and I had to drive.

I miss there being constant action and energy.

How do I make suburban life tolerable?

I am opposite, I came from the country to the city and have a few problems...

1. No where to grill.

2. Hard to park on friday and saturday nights.

3. Cant shoot guns in the back-yard.

4. cant do 100mph between the stopsign and my house.

5. have to take the keys out of the car at night.

6. cant have a dog

7. have to deal with beggars and vagrants.

8. have drunks ringing my bell late at night, although this has caused some fun, by dropping water and eggs on them from my 3rd floor window.

3. numerous restaurants withing 5 minutes walking or driving.

4. girlfriend loves it, which in turn makes me happy.

You can probably wake up in the morning and go to Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or a Tim Horton's...then have lunch at Panera Bread...shop in a strip mall...and head to a giant Walmart for the evening and get lost in mediocrity.

jesus you got it totally wrong. first of all, subway for lunch, TARGET not that dump walmart, and then endless salads and breadsticks at the olive garden!
