Michael Moore has been part buffoon/part social provocateur since 1989.
He has gained a great deal of respect in some circles and earned enormous amounts of ridicule from the right. His documentaries are enormous financial successes by almost any standard. But this film sounds like his Magnum Opus. He sounds like he knows he can't do this much longer. He sounds tired of being the lone voice that can be heard.
I for one admire him.
I have no way of verifying the large amount of information in this film but I think I'll believe him over the corporate media.
One thing that was said in the film is that 1% of the population has more money than another 95%. That secret bank memos ask the richest to defend their plutocracy from the perils of Democracy.
I am content to be one of the beaten masses, because I know that to struggle is futile.
Still I'm glad to live in a country that has a Michael Moore: a clown who still has some fight in him.

I feel Moore is tired of being silly about such serious subjects. The main thrust of the documentary is how depressing everything is out there. He is obviously getting weighed down with how ruthless the world is and how difficult it is to try and make it better.
The film is a touch over two hours and one gets the feeling that he could have made it 20 hours and barely scratch the surface.
One of the topics is the practice of large corporations buying life insurance policies on their employees as a way of boosting their profit margins.
This is a film everyone should see but it ptobably will make you sad.

That fucking capitalist is lining his pocket again
Overture got better news, along with its partner Paramount Vantage, in "Capitalism: A Love Story." The latest broadside from Michael Moore sold $240,000 worth of tickets at four theaters in Los Angeles and New York City this weekend, giving it the highest per-theater average of any film released so far this year. Its total since opening on Wednesday is $306,856.
Now that the left-wing filmmaker's devoted fans have shown their interest, Overture, which is handling the domestic release, will expand the film nationwide on Friday.

Moore has two screenplays, a thriller and a comedy, that he'd like to produce. This is his last attempt to save America for a while.

The punchline to Moore's movie is he chooses democracy over capitalism. According toi him capitalism has created an oligarchy.
