okay.. i'm probably crazy...

but my xm used to fade in and out...
and usually twice a year...
at the equinoxes..

my antenna must have been aimed just right to get the weakest of signals...
so when the tilt of the earth switched for the seasons
(geez.. i'm sounding like a friggin' nut)
my xm would do the 'fade out' thing...

i repositioned my antenna...
away from a large metal wall clock...
giving it a clearer shot at getting a stronger signal...

AND I'VE NOT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE...


(calls to xm, resetting the signal, had no effect.. i had to move the antenna twice a year, till if finally moved it to a much better spot)

I have to switch my antenna spot with the seasons... logic and physics have nothing to do with how the signal fades; currently my home antenna (for an old myfi) is nestled behind a T.V. in the North corner of my livingroom and gets perfect signal. A few weeks ago the antenna had been on a West facing window sill. Go figure
