Lately I've been having problems with my jaw. It feels "out of line" even when my teeth are in line. And it feels odd (and sometimes hurts) when I chew. I read about the symptoms of TMJ. I don't really have them: I don't have migraines or eye or neck pain. It's just the right side of my jaw.

I do know I clench my teeth when I'm stressed. OH I'M STRESSED!!!

It's hard to get an appt with my dentist. I made one but I will bet dollars to donuts that you'll answer me before my appt!

If it's discomfort in the jaw JOINT (just below and in front of the ear) it's TMJ.

if it's discomfort in the mouth from the teeth not lining up, it's "Malocclusion"

You don't have to have migraines, eye, or neck pain with TMJ; it can be confined to the jaw joint. You can get TMJ from malocclusion, too.

Ice, stopping clenching your teeth, stopping gum chewing, and antiinflammatories (assuming you can take them safely) are all worth trying while you're waiting for the doctor's appointment. Dr Joe K can tell you more about TMJ, its diagnosis and treatment, though.
