Hi Dr. Steve,

Two things:

First, I noticed you use the Roger Waters/Berlin Wall version of "Comfortably Numb" as your outro music. Why this version, and what is it that makes David Gilmour such a better person than Roger Waters? ;)

Second, i generally have very clear skin, but once in a while I'll get a pimple on my arm or my leg - and within a day I'll notice that I have a similar zit on the opposite appendage in the exact same spot (the whole bilateral symmetry thing.) It's totally random and doesn't seem to coincide with any environmental factors (dirt/dust. etc exposure.) What gives?

Thanks for your time and love the show.

I love Weird medicines outro music, cause its van morrison singing it, that aside

Hello Dr.Steve

i was on lithium carbonate and effexor for eleven months, and have been off them for more then a year now. now that im starting to smoke marijuana again, and im seeing a HUGE difference in its effects on me post medication

it takes 2X the amount to affect me like a normal smoker

could the lithium and/or effexor have caused this.

Thanks for any incite you might have.

I saw the movie "The Departed" and couldn't get that version of "Numb" out of my head, it was just so bizarre hearing someone else sing the chorus like that. I didn't know at the time it was Van Morrision. When we first got invited to do Weird Medicine live from NYC, I was looking for outtro music and my wife Tacie remembered the Roger Waters/Van Morrison version from the film. I found the .mp3 at Amazon.com and that was that.

I'm not sure David Gilmour is a better person than Roger Waters; I know Waters is apparently harder to deal with. However, I think he's more edgy than Gilmour and the rage and cynicism in some of the PF songs was definitely from Waters. That damn Gilmour can sure play a mean guitar solo, though.

ha, well, you got me on that one. I can posit a theory, though.

I notice that when I get a zit on my face, I'll get them in other places as well on my face; they seem to come in waves. Right now I'm clear, 3 weeks from now I'll be plagued with the damn things. But I'll never get a zit on the palm of my hand. So that tells me a few things:

1) zits crop up only on certain kinds of skin
2) zits have a cyclical nature, at least in me

So, if there are certain preferred areas for a zit to form, it makes sense that when whatever it is that triggers zit formation kicks in, it'll happen symmetrically. So the odds are if I get a zit on the left side of my face, conditions are good for zit formation on the right as well. Therefore I may get some symmetrical zit formation, though it's just a function of favorable conditions for zits and them being confined to "preferred" locations.

In other words, I dunno.
