The two extra ones just came with the bed set. The other two are for sleeping and the last one is for humping.

I use 5, but they are nothing like you are probably used to. I have a buckwheat hull pillow for my head, and I keep several smaller travel size pillows around my body. I sleep with a pillow between my knees too for my back. Look into the buckwheat hull pillow, you will be amazed. The hulls can be shifted to the shape you want to support you specifically, and air flows through them so it doesnt get hot. Check it out.

I want a buckwheat hull pillow! Question SR - are they noisy when the contents shift around? Do they have a funny smell?

Right now I use a single down pillow but I only use about 1/8th right at the corner. 99% time I fall asleep on my right side. I think this is left over from when I had heart surgery 8 yrs ago. For about 3-4 weeks after, I could only sleep in a recliner and with a pillow on my chest. Even after it was real uncomfortable to lay flat on my back for quite a while so I did the side thing. Right side is easier on your heart too since it kinda hangs instead on on left side gets squished feeling. Bonus sleeping habit is I always have the budday's replay playing and an ear bud in but usually can only last 30 mins or so.

I usually just have two pillows, but I broke my wrist and have to have two more to keep it propped up. I totally take up the whole bed, good thing I'm single......I guess....:sad:
