No hurry, I just wanted to get everything in one trip. I picked a few items up on my way home (a gallon of water, soft soap refill, etc) and I had to grab the usual - work cell phone, personal cell, bluetooth, and so on.

Luckily, one of my good customers is less than a mile from my house. I called him and asked if he could help me out.

He came down with a Slim Jim and got the door unlocked in a couple of minutes.

Several members seemed to think that letting Ron and Fez pick the charity/charities and making the contribution in their name as a Christmas gift was a good way to go.

Why involve Ron and Fez at all?
They have completely disaowned this place and Fez and Dave are down right hostile to this place.
They may look at this as a ploy to grab attention back. Fez will find a way to spin it as negative.

personally I think if the thread deadline is before x-mas the charity should involve children in some way.

I think the charity thread might become a quarterly thing and the kidney foundation could still be the beneficiary of one of these.

there is a local charity I support called Friends of Suzanne (http://friendsofsuzanne.org/default.aspx).
They support adults and children affected by cancer. What I like about them is that they support the patient directly by helping them with medical copays the insurance won't cover. They are very small though, so I am not sure it would be fitting... though they do go into hospitals at Christmas time and bring kids undergoing chemo and treatments presents.
