We have found a little cat under our porch, little as in a few months at best, how the hell can we catch it?

Just leave out food and keep showing the cat that you are its friend. Sooner or later you will gain its trust.

Trying that but kinda scared it may get eaten by other creatures

You stand in front of the porch and I will crawl underneath from the side. I will spook it into running at you.

Other than using something to lure it out the only other way is to trap it.

i recomend a towel if you trying to capture rather than lure. treat the cat as a bat.

Ground beef soaked in anti-freeze.
edit: sorry, saw the forum this is in. My suggestion will indeed lure it in and kill it. My bad.

clearly not "Thats Life" material, and god forbid should a mod get off their lazy ass and fix it.

They sell HavaHeart traps at Home Depot for about $30. Put something stinky inside and kitty will go in to eat it and trap will activate. Just be prepared for a really pissed off cat once you open it.
Don't expect for the cat to be sitting all calm like in the picture, but it's the easiest humane way to catch a cat.

These traps are good for catching cats. You can usually rent them from a local feed store for cheap. If you are going to leave one out while you are at work, make sure there is water and shelter from either the sun or precipitation.
They are also good for catching raccoons and possums. And skunks. Keep that in mind. These animals, as well as cats, are possible carriers of rabies. Raccoons and possums are ferocious when cornered, and a skunk will ALWAYS spray when you get close to the trap. It's not that skunky odor you smell when there is a dead skunk on the road. That is residual seepage. When a skunk sprays (they have a max range of about 15 feet), the scent is a lot stronger. It also mists and goes with the wind, contaminating everything within a few feet (or more). Also, the spray can get all over the ground, and will get on your shoe soles when you step in it.
A lot of times, the only safe way to remove one of these wild animals from the trap without having to stick your fingers in biting range (or spraying range) to activate the mechanism is to shoot them (or have Animal Control do it for you). And the skunk always sprays when it is shot. I have seen people inadvertently trap a skunk right next to their front door, and end up with skunk sauce all over their house and walkway. It takes a long time to oxidize. Plus it is the responsibility of the resident to dispose of the carcass.
My recommendation for trapping a cat? Set the trap during daylight hours, and deactivate at night. The wild animals are generally nocturnal (though not always), so you stand a good chance of not catching one this way.
When you trap the cat, be careful. As Missy said, most trapped cats will be pissed. Especially if feral. Keep in mind, that if you are bit by any mammal, you may have been exposed to rabies. While statistically improbable, most of the US is designated as a rabies area, and most states mandate specific procedures for dealing with bites.
Most likely, you can bring the trap to an animal shelter as a stray, and they will remove it for you. What happens to a stray cat at an animal shelter? A feral will be euthanized humanely. An orphan kitten may be euthanized if it is too young, but most likely it will be sent to a rescue or foster home. A regular old cat will be temperament tested, and if it passes, and if the shelter isn't overpopulated (which is often), it will most likely be available for adoption or foster. A black cat stands a good chance of being euthanized, as no one adopts the little bastards. And don't be fooled by a supposed "No-Kill" shelter. They don't exist. What they do is transfer their undesirables to a county or municipal shelter so they can maintain their bullshit "No-Kill" claim. The Humane Society is great at using the loophole to fool the public. Due to the widespread lack of spaying/neutering of domestic animals, it is impossible for a community to deal with stray animals without humanely euthanizing a percentage of them.

Nonsense, cats are crepuscular for the most part, but exhibit diurnal and nocturnal behavior based on routine. A kitten that is without food underneath a house will be attracted to bait whenever it is available.

I scared a raccoon off from entering one once so it is possible.
I always set the trap at a time I can watch it. If the cat is hungry enough and you put something stinky enough in there, it won't take long.

You're right, all cats are just like yours. Come to think of it, I've never seen a cat out during the day.
And your trapping skills stink.

we had a bunch of kittens that lived under the porch at my fraternity with the mother cat. We fed them tuna during the winter and they were self sufficient during all other seasons. I am not much of a cat person but one of the kittens had personality and would come sit on the porch with us during the warm weather seasons.
Well he ran away, I really wanted to catch him because he looked young, oh well I have put food out there maybe he will keep coming back and eventually let us pick him up.
