how sad is this?

At 1300 E. Warren Street, you can see the plight of Detroit. Inside the Wayne County morgue in midtown, 67 bodies are stacked in the freezer. Neither the families nor the county can afford to bury the corpses. Albert Samuels, chief investigator for the morgue, said he has never seen anything like it during his 13 years on the job, CNNMoney reports

the article covers the cremation issues too. at $700, thats a lot for unemployed families when there are other things that need to be paid

donate the bodies to science, or fertilizer. for that, you get a free headstone and resting place. its a win-win.

i dont know if you can donate unclaimed bodies to science. arent there are certain consents that need to be filled out before death or by the family after death?

if you leave your clothes at the dry cleaners for more than 30 days, they dump/donate them.

all jokes aside, it is sad that some folks have to choose to bury a loved one OR leave the power on.

i wasn't joking. either give the meat to poor people or at least make dog food out of it. what is the hang up on this issue?

You guys are all a bunch of douchebags.

This is sad shit. Nothing worse than losing a loved on and not being able to give them a respectable resting place.

You respect the persons life. Not thier death. Some of these people worked hard to raise a family.

I guess i was brought up to respect your loved ones.

October 30 (Devil's Night in Detroit) will be here before we know it. I say just toss them in one of the buildings that will be burning anyway. win win

their life has left them. don't curse their life, but why keep their corpse? i just think burial is silly. remember them, tell young ones stories of them, keep them in your heart, but why have their ashes in an urn or their bones in a box underground? i dont get it

Tell their young ones that a Great Dane didn't have to starve due to their death.

i've always told my wife that i dont want a resting place. i love the ocean and have a fascination with marine life and its cycles. take me off shore, throw me in the ocean.
if the sharks dont consume me, the scavengers will.

my final resting place is in pictures and memories.

The crabs would finally be able to finish the job they had started years and years prior.
