Been playing this Talking Heads' song over and over on my Inno pod. How did I miss this all these years? A rockabilly beat with an organ solo that sounds like Carl Perkins' guitar?
I called my sons and of course they knew all about it.
I'm too old. Old, I say. :annoyed:

How old are your kids? The album that was on came out exactly 30 years ago as of yesterday.

You're talking from your head.
I've loved the Talking Heads since I first heard them in 1977, but I hate that song. It's just a matter of burn out. It is/was played too much

I saw them in 1982 at the Capital Theater in Passaic. It was punk night. I also remember seeing the Ramones for the 6th time. Thank you for the great memory!

I remember listening to and loving that song when I heard it on WPLJ when it was still rock.

When MTV first came to the area, the older sister of a friend of mine thought Burning Down the House would encourage kids to burn their homes.:help:

Fortunately, blame fell onto Beavis and Butthead instead.

I saw Bob Weir and Ratdog do this song 2 weeks after Jerry died. It was fucking awesome!
He followed it with the encore "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
Wasn't a dry eye in the whole joint.:glurps:

I've always been a rockabilly fan. I don't get into this newer stuff, whippersnapper. But now that you mention it, I had heard it before. Before Ron & Fez intro's.
I'll be 67 tomorrow. Thanks to Dr. Steve and good prostate surgeons.

I'm a 42 year old idiot; I never knew it was a cover. I've been gathering vinyl Talking Heads stuff for 5 years or so.... oh well, being an idiot can be fun

Goddamn.
Hearing this again reminded me how tight this band was. I also forgot how important the keyboards were to the rhythm section - which was mostly orchestrated by the amazing Jerry Harrison.
I'll be 47 in December and I try too hard sometimes to stay "relevant" by keeping up with "new" music. Thanks Hepcat for reminding me that somethings don't go out if style.

Not to drift off topic, but my favorite Talking Heads song. Every time I hear it I'm reminded how lucky I am to have my wife in my life.
Even Tina Weymouth looks like she's having a good time.
