Same as who wrote the Quran and the Book of Mormon: men who claimed that God "revealed" himself to them.

That's not what the debate was about. You claimed that if you ask any catholic or religious christian, they will tell you that God wrote the Bible.
I contradicted you and told you how, as a Catholic, I was raised, which was that the Bible was written/told by men who claimed to have seen God's actions and heard his word.

Even one Catholic being taught that would destroy your statement that "any Catholic" would tell you that God wrote the Bible.
And when I was taught, I wasn't the only one there. I was one of hundreds I saw being taught the same message.

No, my point throughout all of this debate is that your point that all catholics/religious christians believe that the Bible was written by God is not correct.
I provided you the dogma I was taught. Maybe all Catholics are wrong.

A bunch of men put their stories (visions) onto paper and the Vatican decided what was relevant and what should get published.

I think a bunch of us should get really trashed one night. Write about 200 pages about the same thing. Bury it. When it is found in 200 years, there can be a new bible.

I have no reason to doubt that it was these three men, with the third being whispered to by a woman, who wrote the Bible in its entirety.

Non-contradictory? So how come there's like two versions of the creation (and the introduction of Eve) in the first few Chapters?

the catholic church wrote the bible as a way to keep people from acting like animals while this is a good thing and the idea of religion has helped the world evolve, the church rules with an iron fist preferring death over resistance in the old days anyways but in our time the church has too much money power and influence to not be corrupted is at least a small way.I think it's best not to worry about religion and live a good life.

Don't worry about religion....but don't be dismissive of what none of us understand.
I know for a fact no one knows certain things and there fore cannot be smug and condescending.
Science continues to evolve and change.
Religion is simply our attempts to connect to things we don't understand.
I personally believe in the Bible but simply as a kind of riddle that is not close to being unraveled.

Actually there are a lot of very agressive athiests here.I've started a few threads on this subject.
I am not a religious fanatic but I do believe in God. Obviously i have to be content with the fact that there is no physical proof of his existence.
I have never seen anything that would make me believe so I just take all sorts of little pieces of information and try to piece it together.
