I actually know a small business owner who has a corporate suite at a sporting venue. He takes all potential sales employees to events and opens the bar for them. At that point, they determine whether they'll get hired or not by their actions.

i dont drink and most (MAJORITY) of the people i work with are 10+ years older than I am.

Not to mention, I get plenty of attention at my work as is.

I see my Boss's boss every morning and the HIS boss talks to me about computers and stuff.

So i get enough exposure

If he hadn't gotten arrested, he'd be making more money playing football and getting sponsorship dollars. And maybe even getting a reality show like TO.

He may be getting a show as a result of the his arrest and prison time, but it doesn't mean it's a reward. Looking at the whole picture, the negatives that happened to him clearly outweigh getting a reality tv show.

I don't think that staying late necessarily means being with the idiots.

At our department happy hours, our boss and visiting superiors are usually the last to leave. They stay, talk work, life, etc. No one is making a fool of themselves, so staying late is not a negative.
