View Full Version : Racists decry selection of minority beauty queen

it's hard to believe
that in 2009 you could have
college students who object

based on her race
i am embarrassed that people
still say things like
" We're not the same skin color...
how can we relate?"
it breaks my heart

What a bunch of "Deep South" racists. I have always heard from my North Eastern US fellow Americans that racism is rooted in the Old Dominion state. Now I see what they mean.:nono:
Has this been covered by any of the major networks yet ?

So, what exactly is your point?
Are you trying to show that blacks are racist?
Newsflash: everyone can be racist. But, this was a horrible story to push your agenda.

The girl said: A lot of people are mad, are upset, because they feel like it's not someone who would represent us. I mean, it's not some one you could, you know, look at, and be like 'oh, we're not the same skin color, how can we relate?'
Then at the end of the clip she says: At the same time, I just feel like, as long as she's a positive, some type of positive role model, doesn't do anything wrong, then she, she'll be good.
She only referenced other people who are upset. They didn't actually find any students who were personally upset about it.
Not saying their aren't any, but they didn't find any for the story.

Where is this same "defense" out of you when the roles are reversed? I love how the "comments of a few" can simply be brushed off. But if one white guy says something semi-racial, it's seen as a "problem" that all white people have.
Where are you every time a black persons cries racism because they can't get into a club, don't make a basketball team, or any of the other million racist claims made by black people every month? You very conveniently sit on your hands and keep your mouth shut for those stories. You know why? Because there's no risk to calling a white person racist. Whether it's true or not, you will still be seen in a positive light for speaking up(no matter how fake or inappropriate it is). Harry Connick Jr, Jimmy Carter, are great examples of these cowards. But when it's a white person who brings up racism against whites(very rare), or white people are a victim of a crime at the hands of black people, none of you are heard from, and white people are called over sensitive for bringing race into the story.
When did white people become such cowards?

You can't take some posts on a messageboard and think you know that the people here do nothing in certain situations. I'm not applying it to the individual, I'm applying it to the type. But, go ahead, join Nick Dipaolo in his white men are the new minority thinking. That snooty remark shows your very uneven logic. I didn't say anything about the white man being a minority. I just want an even playing field. That's all. If a white person voices his opinions on something being unequal racially, he's either labeled a racist, or called a crybaby. But if a black person points out what they believe to be racial inequalities, they are called a civil right activist. If a white person beings up something they believe to be racially insensitive to black people, they are called progressive.
I bet you were very quiet when professor Gates made his accusations. You were either quiet, or you vocalized your agreement with him.

Again. You have missed the point. THIS STORY IS A NON-STORY. Not every story of black against white racism is a non-story.
She heard a few comments from people and it turned into a racial conspiracy story which SHE admits it was not. So, THIS STORY is a non-story.
When a white person is beaten by blacks, I think the press should look harder at the black racism angle. I guess the media has decided that black racism is not a profitable avenue to pursue. But, I am frustrated when every white assault on a black is racist, but no black on white assault is racist. That would be a story.
I thought Gates was an arrogant ass. And the cop should have worked better at defusing the situation instead of allowing it to escalate. Is it good use of resources to arrest a man on his porch? Had Gates been in the cops face or making threats that would be a different. But, I think you should be able to yell at a cop on the sidewalk, from your porch, that you question his motives. Regardless of race.
Willi Cicci

Nope
It's just pointing out certain patterns. Not all white people are cowards on the subject of race-relations, but most are. Most are afraid to even broach the subject. And those that do usually are simple agreeable with minorities in order to avoid any kind of negative labels. Eric Holder was right when he said that this country should be embarrassed in how it's dealing with race relations. Racism has been replaced by racial awkwardness in our society.

The individuals who I was refereencing were very quiet when the roles where switched in other news stories regarding accusations of racism. In this story, where a white person accused black people of being racist, the individuals I referenced where quick to dismiss the accusations of racism. But when it's the other way around and a black person has accused a white person of racism unjustly(Like I referenced in the professor Gates story), those same people were very quiet. Those individuals represent a large amount of people in our society.
Now you probably fall in line with that group, hence your not being to fond of what I wrote.

Hence it should have been a non-story, right?
But all people did was hammer the cop. Nobody stopped to listen to the story, or called Mr. Gates out for being a race baiter. Obama even got a pass for his racial bias.

My problem is when posters here call other posters here cowards and make assumptions based on a few posts on a message board.

Yeah, the angry white guy yelling about white guilt act was pretty easy to see through.
Is it his fault that his life has been a failure? No, I think it is caused by racism. If not for blacks oppressing him and whites feeling guilty about a couple indiscretions long past, he would have been a successful happy man. Cut him some slack.
Where are you every time a black persons cries racism because they can't get into a club, don't make a basketball team, or any of the other million racist claims made by black people every month?
That's crazytalk
