What I've always thought and all agree, young gay's are rebellious and take extreme chances with their life when they are young. As my son matures and embraces his sexuality, he has become more responsible.

I also know that most parents are on the edge of their seats when we find out and many dis-own thier kids; we did not, we embraced it (and we are conservative--he's our son), all is good. In fact, our son brings his significant other to family events; and they bring us great joy and comedy.

I don't think it's too much to ask to dress appropriatly for a senior picture that goes to the whole family (not all are open to the concept).

The lesbian's rights were not being violated when she was told she couldn't get her picture taken with a tux. The lesbian's rights were not being violated when she was told she couldn't get her picture taken with a tux. There was a standard that she didn't agree with and therefore she can choose either to take a picture with a dress or to not take a picture at all. I don't see where any rights are being violated.

Ok this isn't a public event, this is a picture for a yearbook. A yearbook that is to represent a school. The school has a standard for the girls and boys to look a certain way.

She did not like the standard. She has a choice to make. She can either conform and wear a dress like all the other girls who have no problem with the standard OR she can not have her picture taken.

my oldest is not gay but she is very unconventional when it comes to fashion, personally i could care less what she wears for school pictures as long as it's not skanky. if the school has rules, then she follows those rules. i had no problem with what the school did..you can have tux photos taken on the side.

Thanks Red, though, I'm talking about private gay parties (afte the bars) that get problematic (seems universal with the gay community). If you are not gay and you don't have a gay child---it's tough to compare the two. Red, I'm not going anywhere with this, just weighing in. :wub:
