As many of you already know, my goal in life is to become a published author.

As many of you know, I suffer from insomnia and thus spend my nights flipping through TV channels and watch infomercials.

One infomercial I often see is for Vantage Press. It is a subsidy publishing company. I know that there are a lot of 'scams' out there. Upon doing research online I have come across several horror stories involving Vantage Press as well as other similar companies.

Does any one have any experience with them? Or know anyone who has?

If you have to pay someone to publish your work...it is a scam.

...I have a friend that published his own book....I don't recommend doing your own proof reading, but he was pleased overall.

pinching your nose and twisting will help you fall asleep. i'm sure you'll be crying before you do it so there aren't any side effects for you.
