There are already regulations out there, dont these useless politicians know that already? Enforce the ones out there. We dont need blue ribbon panels, more bureaucracy and red tape. Im all for regulation of the financial markets but one more layer isnt going to solve anything
As far as Dodd, hopefully all of Connecticut will wake up and toss his rear end out next year

Watch the language. This isn't an XL website.
Conn. Sen. Dodd expected to announce retirement (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/06/AR2010010600023.html)
Embattled Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd (D) has scheduled a press conference at his home in Connecticut Wednesday at which he is expected to announce he will not seek re-election, according to sources familiar with his plans.
Dodd's retirement comes after months of speculation about his political future, and amid faltering polling numbers and a growing sense among the Democratic establishment that he could not win a sixth term. It also comes less than 24 hours after Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) announced he would not seek re-election.
Most interesting...

And CT Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is going to run for his seat. I figured Rosa DeLauro would have jumped all over that.

Ive lived in CT only about a year but from what Ive heard, Blumenthal is pretty popular. Even though Im for Schiff hes got no chance at all

Spitzer is the first thing I thought when I saw Blumenthal too.

He's going to be CT's Chuck Shumer: he loves the media attention.

I hope one of them do well. As Vince McMahons wife is also trying to grab that seat.

Jim Himes or Ned Lamont are best case scenario, but I doubt they can muster the political machine Blumenthal can in the time remaining.

Theres some scuttlebutt that Dodd might replace Geithner as treasury sec
Theres some scuttlebutt that Dodd might replace Geithner as treasury sec
Doubtful, since his ties to the financial community led to his "retirement".

I'm a liberal democrat. It's not happening. If he runs, he loses by the widest margin in North Dakota electoral history.
