Does anybody know why they added Bonnie Bernstein to this show ?

She's almost unlistenable.

She makes me tune into Mark Levin sometimes.

No, not so much. I couldn't take Wolf 5 days a week, but he's in the perfect slot right now.

Who do you think is the best NY sports talker right now? It would still have to be Francesa, don't you think? He could definitely be knocked off the top, though. Just not by Kay.

I've actually grown to like Kay a lot more than I used to and I think it's because he became somewhat more objective about things especially the Yankees.

He's not nearly the homer he used to be.

To be honest Carton was much more of a cheerleader for the Yankees during the playoffs than Kay was.

Don L's a decent balance to him as well.

But as has been said Bonnie Bernstein is cancer for the ears.

She brings nothing of value to the show.

As far as Sommers goes I don't mind him in small doses but I can never listen to his monologues.

One of the tangents he went on echoed a lot of what's in this Onion article :

i completely agree. i hate admitting it, but Kay has definatly grown on me in the past year or two. i dont catch his radio show much, but i do hear him 100+ times a year calling a baseball game.

I don't know if it was just a conscious thing he did himself or if the station came to him and asked him to be more neutral but he's light years from where he was when he first got that time slot.

I don;t know how he can host a show while he broadcasts for a team. Since he broadcasts all the Yankees games what the heck does he know about the MEts. Absolutley nothing. He might catch 5 mets games a year. LEt it be known I am a Yankee fan however I want my host to know both locals.

I'm sure he does his research like any host would do.

He obvioulsy wouldn't know the Mets as well as he know the Yankees but he probably knows more than Francesa being that he's somewhat of a baseball insider.

i really really HATE that I have to say this.

Lately I've been so sick of fat Mike Francessa and his bowls of food and kegs of Diet Coke that I turned to 1050 and, GASP, the Michael Kay show.

Its pretty fuckin funny. it seems like how OnA used to be. Just a bunch of guys hanging out who legitimately had fun and got along. When he has his regular callers, they seem to be friends and have fun and bust balls. Its not like WFAN all business shit.

Ive really been liking Michael Kay and his awesome songs and ball bustin. He gets off some funny lines and even with awful bonnie, its been pretty damn good

in general, Francessa is awful and Kaye slightly less, but sometimes they do have decent guests and also they have a bit of a sense of humor.

The funniest thing is when they try to get Joey to believe he has a chance with her. I agree with you though, I thought they were just doing radio when they were saying how hot she is. I just love it when she says Outbound Gowanus.
