I don't like leaving my neighborhood for a party, let alone Manhattan.

Needs more of a southern lisp. And a stent.

Fat Darrell would like a word with you.

That place was lauded when I got here. They watched me eat it to see what I thought. Mediocre at best, and that is at best. The fries are weak and soggy.

The problem is, the Christmas Party, we're supposed to be graced by R&F.

]First you'd have to get them to go to a .Net party.
They went to the rogue party instead last night. I think that says a lot...

That says nothing... Don't act like it's a miracle they showed at Gvac's thing.
We as a group can survive and function without R&F showing up. Example? 2002[/COLOR].

You made a statement, I replied to it, and then you took an opposing side to your original statement, and read something else into mine.
I guess people hear what they want to hear.
Goodnight...

Planning doesn't make a hell of a difference in last night's case if the bar changes the deal on the night of the party and fucks you over.

Unless of course the planning was to not go to that place to begin with.

I would absolutely LOVE to plan and help throw a .net party.

But I'm Matty Fridays. I'm a bad guy. No one thinks or wants to think that Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love planning parties. If I even had my hand involved in this a lot of people would react like some people reacted to the Gvac party.

there was no vip thing, really. anyone who got a wristband got into this area which was basically just our hang out.

unless you did what I did, which was drink my vodka clubs as fast as I could right at the bar and made the chick keep refilling me, it might not have been worth it.

not the best venue for our crowd, but I'm sure Jon did his best and we made it work.

What I don't get is why couldn't ronfez.net close down a bar? A lot of places here in Cambridge and Boston were closed on Friday & Saturday night because of private Christmas parties. Why doesn't that happen? Obviously a board sponsored event that is talked about on the radio is going to draw a crowd, why can't a place close down for it?

Even though I'm sure you can't fail to the level Jon has, you'd actually have to plan on attending said party and actually meet fucking people outside of your comfort zone. Yep, it's that time of the year again, where we drink, be merry, and cause a ruckus! This year, it will be...

Saturday, December 12, 2009
9pm till they kick us out
at The Yard (formerly Porky's NYC) - http://porkysnyc.com/
55 W 21st Street, by the corner of 6th Ave in NYC

This year's drink special is $35 for all you can drink Top Shelf from 9pm-12am. This includes any any beers they carry as well as the liquor. Buying a bracelet is not mandatory, but you do get access to the "VIP Area" in the back of the bar (I was told it fits up to 100 ppl, but may get tight with that many people back there) and can skip any lines that may be outside the bar when you arrive. If you do not buy a bracelet, you will not have access to that area.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

False advertising, so I assume Jon is going to get everyone's money back or at least man up and be personally responsible. I'm still happy his hotel discount/setup was so solid for Ryno, Gwen and Bg! I'm sure less people would have come if not for the supreme effort that was put forth by jon.

And Matty, I am probably one of the people who doesn't care how everybody hates you or has something against you, but you planning a party cracks me up, cause you never attend them for one reason or another.

I see Zipgun's point that you can't do much when the bar screws you over the night of, but that's where proper planning comes into play, and if you sign a contract with them before hand it includes these deals and not just the cut you get of the head count at the end of the night.

Oh there have been some here saying it for years. It's always nice to add to the guest list, some quicker than others (yah I'm looking at you). Yet you'll always have those with ulterior motives (modship and retarded title strokers) and hence an odd lack of character and ability to see things for what they are no matter how clear and often they come up.

At least Sailor has a pair, and good sense. Even if he buys dying plant leaves from random bums on the street. I understand some others who had a chance to make a statement chose to "have their reasons". Whatever the fuck that could mean outside of cop out, I have no clue.

Well, in theory, if you're going to advertise the event, you want the place to be prepared and have enough staff on for the night and possibly work drink specials or even close down the place.

Well, in theory, if you're going to advertise the event, you want the place to be prepared and have enough staff on for the night and possibly work drink specials or even close down the place.

dont worry i'll make sure its all setup for the long island bar night

JerseyRich

you do it next year then

We did it this year!

One phone call was all it took. No contracts signed.

We know the place. There was basically no one in there except for our group. They had drink specials. We could come and go as we pleased...we picked the music we wanted via the jukebox...and just about closed the place down.

It couldn't have been easier.

I mean, Jesus Christ, letting a bar in a big city know you've got a group of people coming in is one of the easiest things to do. There's like a zillion of them and all it takes is a phone. Even Gvac is able to do it, which should tell you a LOT.

It seems like it would just make snese to do the lowkey thing in the future. Let's be honest: barring a miracle this is going to be roughly the crowd that'll come out for this even with show promotion. I understand the intentions behind a "planned" party, but it simply doesn't seem practical at all.

The highlights of that night were:

...'Sup? We had a party here or somefin'?

No, it was a raping...and we are getting damage control in the form of vague promises of an event in February. Assholes should be nice and healed in time for the next raping.

That help?

The Yard - The Yard NYC is one of those celebrity-owned NYC hotspots if you happen to be a visiting frat boy from in Wachoogee, Wisconsin. Like its owner, Don Vito from Viva La Bam, The Yard NYC is big, loud and crass, ideal for letting off some steam after work.

is this true?

Yeah, I agree.
You didn't have to wait more than a minute or two until after 11. That's when it started to get really crowded. And I agree with whoever posted that the "VIP" area was actually a good thing for us. Would've been tougher to talk to everyone if we were mixed in with the rest of the rabble in the bar.

Oh, well then let's just book it again. I can't wait until Jon has to be there to book his next NxNYC party (as per twitter) so he can line up our next party as well.

What are you attacking me for?
I'm just making an observation. Will you somehow not be happy unless you hear that every single person who went to the Yards had a miserable time?

Everyone went where they wanted to go; why are you people still so angry about this 3 days later? Especially people who didn't go to any of them.
