My brother has me selling two of his guitars on eBay. I'm no expert. I looked at pics on other eBay adds to see what kind of pics I should take. Here's what I have right now. I'd appreciate any help in choosing which ones to use, or if you think there are some that I'm missing.
Sorry for the large photos. It's probably best if you don't quote my entire post, to avoid lots of thread clutter.

I've sold a few of mine on eBay (years ago - before it got too risky for sellers) and to protect myself I took and posted pictures of every conceivable angle (and in different lights.) Buyers could easily claim finish defects that were not disclosed in the listing - to protect against that I tried to show as many "views" as possible. I'd post them all and then some (smart move posting pics showing the S/N.) I had a couple of ludicrous claims from buyers of mine that were looking for a free guitar out of the deal - you and bro need to cover your asses as much as possible.

That Mexican Tele was a bitch to take pics of. The glossy black finish ends up with all those white specks. When I tried to shoot them last night, I was in a room with an overhead light. The reflection of the light cover ended up in all the pics on the black surface.

I think the pic's look great, but if you have to omit some, I would choose #4 and #6 on the Fender. Also, make sure you have clear pics of any wear marks or scratches.
For the G&L, maybe an overall shot of the back of the guitar body? This way you can discard pic's 7 and 8, and It will also show off the nice finish.
BTW, If I were buying either of those guitars, those shots would do just fine. The rules change when your selling a vintage guitar. Those buyers expect to see the exposed electronics and soldering, and with older Fenders the sellers take the necks off to show the "born on" date stamp.
Nice looking guitars! Your brother has good taste.

That's a good idea. But I'm going to keep 8. Like monkfish said, it's a good idea to show the serial number.
BTW... I had no idea there was such a thing as a Mexican Tele. I wonder if you can use a taco as a slide.

2 suggestions;
1. I always take a shot looking down the neck (headstock to body) to show it isn't warped.
2. A shot of the action (string height off the neck), I try to get from about the 12th fret to the body in profile so the space between the strings & the neck is visible.
Ya did good tho, PB!!! :)
That's a nice Telecaster.

They've been making guitars in Mexico since the early 90's...at first, the quality wasn't so good but now they they rival American made Fenders in my opinion.
And when you post the serial number of an instrument, it is a GOOD IDEA to blur out the last couple of numbers, as there has been an online scam going on in the past few years where people claim that the instrument you posted online was stolen and use the serial number against you.
Just a word of advice...the first couple numbers are the only important ones anyway, as they denote where the guitar was manufactured and in what year
(EX: MZ2=Mexico in 2002
S8= USA in 1978)

Thanks for the help, buddays! I put 6 effects pedals up yesterday, and the guitars went up tonight. It took less than a half hour for the guitars to have 9 watchers, and I've has one person already ask me to sell him the G & L outright. I said "no", of course.
If anyone is interested in any of it, my ebay name is pauleight.
Hey! I'm a spammer, now!!!:clap:

Thanks again, Buddays! The G&L went for $722, and the Tele went for $407. Amazingly, the 6 effects pedals, that my brother paid an average of 10 bucks for each, sold for a total of $258!!!
WOOO HOOO!!!:thumbup:
