I'm a semi-reformed. I've tried pretty hard to get away from it, but I always seem to be pulled back in. My family calls me "The king of all useless information". No matter what the topic is, wether it's Movies(even ones I've never seen) to politics to little known music groups, I always have some stupid fact. Damn it, I guess I'll be a geek for life no matter what I do.

I guess I'm kinda geeky, in the sense that there is more information in my head about guitar number serialization for different manufacturers and how it varies between certain years. Or what the difference between Florentine and Venetian mean when it comes to body styles. And the causes, and remedies for 60 cycle hum. Or knowing when to use a .05, a .001 or a .01 capacitor depending on whether the potentiomer is either 250K ohms or 500K ohms (use a 250K with a single coil, and a 500K with a humbucker by the way).

But I think I'm really just more awkward and shy than anything else.

Not to mention I edited this post three times to make sure it was just right because I don't like to make mistakes. Although someone could find one I'm sure.

Oh, and that guy in my sig pic is Bob Stinson by the way, and only maybe one other person here may have noticed that without being told who it is.

i guess the awkwardness is what i find kind of charming.i just like the shy quiet type that has a lot to say when given a moment. and for heavens sake you all know i love you. i crave boys with endless useless knowledge. i love the obsessivness of buying 2 of things -one to play with , one as a collectible. that is the most adorable type of insanity that exists on this earth. and glasses always look good .
and i love the Io fact.
so coool.

i would start a geeky guy worshipping thread for all of you ... i would even include triple H who thinks he isnt a geek, but ive met him and well.. ummmm..

i like to learn about new geek things so please feel free to keep me up to date.

I love Geeky guys too! Hell my boyfriend is a bonified Geek! He's so adorable. He has every X-File episode on DVD and tape. He loves Mystery Science Theater 3000 and he owns the last 3 seasons in it's entirety. He's totally gotten me hooked on MST 3000. He has every episode of Mr. Show on tape. He tapes Red Dwarf every Friday. He's so awesome, he plays with Legos at the age of 20, a plus in my book. He even named his TempurPedic pillow Theresa. He's so cute.

Melissa, I think Dogget is a fantastic actor in his role. He's superb as the hard edged cop. The problem is I, and a lot of Philes, don't care about the show or the storyline anymore because it was obvious Carter had no idea where he was going so just added different things contradicting other things. When they gave away what happened ot Mulder's sister, it was obvious they had no steam left.

DOggett/Patrick are great, it's just that I think they belong on a different, better show where we can care about the storylines and it's worth watching.

and MST3K is not dorky, because, it just isn't OK!?

When they gave away what happened ot Mulder's sister,

sorry to digress, but I got so disgusted with the show, that I stopped watchig a few seasons ago, and I remember this issue getting so vauge it was part of why I stopped. Did they really explain what happened? because originally it was the show's foundation.
So what happened, if you don't mind?

form what I put together Jerry, apparently she entered a world or universe where she's playing an eternal game of Ring around the rosie at the age she disappeared. I only saw the episode once but that's what I remeber, I may be completely wrong. ONce they 'showed' it I couldn't help but think that "ok, the quest which was the basis for the show is over END IT"

GEEK or NOT??

This thread has me thinking...

I am in good shape, athletic, not into Sci-Fi or Dungeons and Dragons, love to party/drink/dance (and I am an ok dancer), subscribe to GQ and dress stylish (whatever stylish is...lol), ride a Suzuki crotch rocket motorcycle, and put my pic on ratemyface.com and am rated 8.

BUT I...

have horrible vision (wear contacts), have read MANY novels, love computers and the web, can't stand "meathead guidos" even though I am Italian, waaay too into video games, got very good grades in my academic career, and kick ass at trivia (my friends call me the king of useless knowledge.)

AM I a geek or not?

Either way is fine, just wondering...
