Ipod Questions

I am a noob at the ipod thing.My wife and kid have had them for quite some time.My problem is this.The wife has an 80g ipod that was synced to itunes.I then bought her an iphone.The iphone is synced to itunes.The problem is that she hadn't hooked up the ipod for quite a while and now it says"This ipod is synced to a different account"

I don't know how to find that account.Her computer crashed since she last used the account but I'm pretty sure she used the same password and definately the same e-mail account.I would like to sync the two accounts or at the very least import the music from the ipod into the new account.The only option that Apple is giving me is erasing the ipod and linking it to the new account.

I own all of the music on it but I would prefer not to have to upload all of those cd's back into the new account if I don't have to.Oh great Oracle can you help me?

In itunes, under the "Store" menu there's an selection entitled "authorize computer". I would imagine that the computer crash messed that up.

I have like 200 pictures now on my iPod touch, and Id like to know how I can seperate the pictures into folders. I cant figure it out. when you open the app, there are dozens of lines as if you can make a multitude, but I see no option. Anyone know a secret I do not?

you have to create and edit the folders in iPhoto, then check which folders you want on your iPhone/iPod in the preferences in iTunes.

It's because of the computer crash/rebuilt. Your ipod believes it's being connected to a different computer. If you go into "devices" in your "preferences", it will show you what ipods are tied to that itunes. If your ipod isn't listed in there, I'd still say to try what I suggested earlier.

Since you're not manually syncing, all of that ipod's music should be in itunes anyway. Go ahead and let it erase and reload. If there's music missing, syncing would eliminate those songs anyway.

Okay, I am having a crazy problem. I cannot get my ipod touch to appear in iTunes! I want to sync it and try to organize the photos as written above, but I cant get it to appear. I have tried connecting and disconnecting and rebooting it and plugging it into different usb ports, and its just not showing up. The sync option is dimmed out too. What can I do to make it appear? Help!

New question.I have 3 ipods in the family and I was wondering if I can share music from one account to the other.The new home share option on Itunes9 seems to want to allow me to share purchased music only.A lot of the music we have uploaded is from actual cd's.

Any advice?

The share option allows you to share everything...you just have to make sure every computer has home sharing on in itunes.

To copy material from one computer to another, you just highlight the stuff you want and select "import" in the lower right hand corner.
