And only a savage would work on football sunday with all this great snow!
I know someone else who backed out of work due to snow.
I wonder, who could it be?

I'm not religious but working on a Sunday just seems WRONG.
Maybe it's because the area I've lived my entire life still has blue laws preventing most businesses from opening on Sunday.

I think all businesses need to be closed on Sundays. It just seems right. Everyone needs a day to be with their family. It might make families stronger...it might bring peace on earth.

Problem is is that people use religion as an excuse not to work on a Sunday, but do not follow through with the rest of it like fasting, no booze etc. They don't work cuz it is convenient for them.

Nope. Pretty much only grocery stores and restaurants are open, like Dell said.
The weird thing is going into a 24 hour supermarket on a Saturday night.
At midnight they put up horses and police tape blocking the aisles where things that are prohibited to be sold on Sunday are.
hey! i was one of them
growing up, our church made a big deal about both going to restaurants after Sunday service and how important the blue law was...they never saw the hypocrisy...

I'm glad we have them because there's so many malls and retail stores around here that it's nice to have ONE day where traffic is tolerable.

Not at all. Bergen County, NJ.
Between Paramus and Hackensack, the major highways (Route 4 and Route 17) have 5 malls and thousands of retail stores.
They claim the increased police needed if the businesses were open would raise taxes.
Like I said; I'm glad. It gives the residents here one day where those roads are passable.

have a nice home cooked meal with family on Sundays... relax, go for a walk... visit grandparents.. bbq's, bike tours... all kinds of crazy things you can do without shopping. Of course Germans are no amateurs and stock up on drinks over the weekend.

you have to make money for drinking some where.
Its not like you can out out and try to buy beer and have no money so you go to the brewery to work to get free beer to only find out that a hot chick works there and her father recently died and an evil genius took over the company bent on taking over the world with an elite force of hockey playing drones at his whim, where in chance you are also good at hockey and beat those guys and then take the company back from the evil guy because you found out that he killed the chicks dad with a broken video game machine.
