I have a question about Madeline Zima? This year she was on Heroes but never appeared on Californication until Heroes took a break. Was this planned out or can actors be in 2 shows at the same time? I know I've seen this happen like this many times.

I think it was a little more than just a guest star.

I'm fairly certain that Kathryn Erbe was on both L&O:CI and had a small stint on Oz at the same time.

Ditto for J.K. Simmons who was in the original L&O and also on Oz.

Actually Christopher Meloni might've been doing L&O:SVU while also doing Oz.

Heather Locklear was on TJ Hooker and Dynasty at the same time.

Actors can be on multiple shows at the same time.

Characters can be on multiple shows at the same time.

Actors can be different characters on the same show within the history of the show.

Lock this shit up.

It should not be allowed.

If any actor attempted to do this, the penalty should be death.

ive seen this happen a lot lately but its usually an actor playing a role for one episode and then gone, then pops up on another show as a new one episode character

most recently was the blonde guy that was a druggie on that benji bratt cable series show, he showed up in a house episode and then a criminal minds episode i think

Sometimes an actor may have an exclusivity clause in their contract, but that would apply to series regulars more than guest stars.

The things is they never had enough prison shower rape in the L&O series.

There were quite a few instances of actor/actress appearances on both Oz and the L&Os but I didn't include them because I don't thnk they overlapped.

BD Wong was in L&O:SVU and Oz as was Dean Winters ( Ryan O'Reily in Oz ).

The woman who played Peter Cambells wife on Mad Men plays a student on Community.
Alison Brie I think.
She's adorable

I don't remember if Oz and The Wire overlapped because I caught The Wire in reruns but McNulty's queer lieutenant, the guy who eventually became police commisioner and whose character name has slipped me, had a few appearnces on Oz.

The two shows shared actors, but I don't think any characters overlapped.

From Wikipedia:

# Oz and The Wire have a large number of crossover cast members. Oz actors Lance Reddick, John Doman , J.D. Williams, Seth Gilliam, Wood Harris, Reg E. Cathey, Frankie Faison, Michael Hyatt, Clarke Peters and Domenick Lombardozzi were all regulars on The Wire, while Method Man, Tom Mardirosian and Cyrus Farmer all guest-starred.[3]

Callum Keith Renne (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0719678/) is a perfect example of someone who can do two at once. I think as long as it isnt a "Law and Order" show, which is shot on in NYC actors can easily do it. Callum was "Leoben" in Battlestar Galactica and played "Lew Ashby" on Californication. I wondered why his character had a goatee when Galactica ended, and now I know it was cause he was also playing Ashby on another series.

Yeasdley Smith played the part of Louise Fitzer on Herman's Head from 1991-1994
at the same time she played the part she is best known for, Lisa Simpson

Yeah but that is different. Cartoons voices are recorded months before it's ever done and it only takes them a day to record.

Campbell Scott is on Royal Pains in about half the episodes and is one of the series regulars on Damages this season.
