Why is my nose not running now?

My nose has been stuffed or running for three days now thanks to the cold my wife gave me. No amount of meds taken orally or sprayed up my nose have given me much relief. I lit a fire in the fireplace and am sitting about eight feet away and I can breath easy.

WHY?

I'm not even sure I care why. I think I'll sleep here. I hate colds.

Only it's all wood I cut this spring. Some cotton wood, some walnut, some maple, none really well seasoned but it burns. Maybe the fire is just sucking the humidity out of the room.

I was cutting a cottonwood down one time, and the entire core was a cavity, full of rain water. I did not know this. When my saw cut through, water poured out. It was an unusual woodcutting experience.
