Hey Oracle,
I'm planning a vacation to the great Southwest next February. Aside from the Grand Canyon, what other sites should I be sure to check out? I'll be in New Mexico and Arizona.
Thanks a lot!

Oh!!! awesome Gregory.....one thing I suggest if you have time and you really want to experience the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, you must take an overnight hike or mule ride down to the bottom of it.....that's if you can get a reservation...
Besides that, make sure you take 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon, it's a nice and a little scary drive down switchbacks and brings you into the crazy but beautiful town of Sedona.
I haven't spent much time in New Mexico, I've been to Chaco National Historical park, it's a very intriguing place.
If you have any questions just pm me, Lenny and I lived in that area for 4 years so we are pretty familiar....even if it's for restaurants we could help out!

I agree with Annie. Sedona is a must hit. While driving there, try to plan it so you go through the town of Jerome. (not sure what road) It's a very odd and interesting little town.

Death Valley National Park is beautiful and unlike any other national park I've been to.
Also, on the way to DVNP, there is a ghost town called Rhyolite (outside of Beatty, NV) that is really interesting.

Greg, Id love to go there some day. You ever see the movie Cars? The background was inspired by that area. Extinct volcanos and windswept eroded sedimentary landscape, and all those colors. Id love to live there. Maybe someday.
