Same with me. Whipping Post is not a staple song I have to hear, nor do I know many Allmans' fans (most of my friends are) who have to hear it as well. That's why I felt Ron was so off on that statement. Then again, he probably hasn't seen them in 20 years or so. I do like whenever they throw a few licks of Mountain Jam during other songs, that's always fun.

I think Dickey was still with the band at the time I wrote that email, which was a while ago.

Although I do check out the Dickey Betts Band whenever they come through NYC. They're awesome.

The terms red state and blue states I think is fairly new, but the concepts those terms represent have been known for years. States were labeled as conservative or liberal. For instance, everyone has known the South has been red (although that term was not used) for decades. New York was always a liberal (Blue) state.
