My answers would be:

Producer of the decade: Billy Staples (probably some of the most memorable moments from the show)

Best caller: Jay Mohr

Most shocking moment: Wonderboy smashes J-Dubs car windows on his last night and rides off into the sunset (that one even got Ron...you could tell from the audio).

Best intern: Tie: Bitz (good call on that, mikeyboy)/Frothy OJ Paulie

Nut of the decade: Elfish

Meltdown of the decade: Fez/Mikey D

Feud of the decade: Al Dukes vs. Gay Randy

Nut of the decade: Elfish

I remember at one of the Dave and Buster's events down here during the WJFK days, he asked Ron and Fez to autograph a Bible. That genuinely seemed to freak Ron out.

That's right: David Lee Kinison.

Oh, there was one more category: the Rivalry of the Decade. The consensus was Al Dukes vs. _____.

Yeah, he apparently drunkenly came up with that name on the spot and it stuck until the "Rock & Roll Elvis" song came to light.

Oh, there was one more category: the Rivalry of the Decade. The consensus was Al Dukes vs. _____.

yeah, that was the consensus pick after the discussion of feud of the decade.

What was Fez's motivation for BANoF2? Besides the obvious... was it really that great? I seem to remember a lot of problems, such as the bar charging people to park, which Ron flipped out about.

People might forget that Blowhard (aka Heckler) did a lot, especially during the WNEW era where he was instrumental in the "Keep R&F in New York" campaign after O&A got dumped from WNEW and was a mod on this board, among other things.

That's true, but the torch seemed to be passed to you once they came down to WJFK -- and then back up to NY. Blowhard pretty much left the board he helped build by then.

Interestingly enough, most people didn't care or forgot about the problems about a week after the event.

Sadly, people still hang on to glories of that night seven and a half years later. Almost like you've achieved nothing else in your life to make a big deal out of.

Events should always be about nothing more than having fun. Proving points or creating vendettas are tiresome for anybody other than those directly involved.

I agree. I listen to the show every day during my commute and at the gym and I don't understand how these vendettas happen and why they linger. I have been on this board for a few years and don't understand how things have gotten bad enough to where the show has divorced itself from the fan site.

I have to give credit to Blowhard.

Man, Crazy Jen is the hands down nut of the decade, no contest. She's like some kind of savant. The absolute best.

Bits is the write in candidate for intern of the decade, if only for that song.

The worst - by far - was Harry. He just sucked balls. Not funny sucked balls, boring sucked balls.

My favorite intern ever is Frighty Fright from wnew

song, has to be brother joe's black Earl song it's been around for ever an still gets played at live events

producer, Al Dukes his descent into madness hd me fixed to the radio every night

most shocking, Ron announcing Fez had his first heart attack

feud, Ron vs. shock jock radio, i find it fascinating how Ron is continually evolving away from the Ron and Ron show yet thats what initially got him to WNEW

I haven't seen one answer that doesn't have its merits, so many terrific misfits that make up the Ron and fez universe.

The worst - by far - was Harry. He just sucked balls. Not funny sucked balls, boring sucked balls.

Except when it came to Billy...then Harry was pretty solid...a couple weeks before he got the boot, around one of the Christmas episodes, when Billy called in to sandbag Harry and Harry ripped him to shreds to the point where Billy basically ran from the phone was one of his few fine moments.

I don't know if it would qualify as a "meltdown" but...
back in, like 2002 there was some nonsense with Eddie Trunk's wedding or some shit. I think Ron wasn't supposed to mention it. I dunno. But... Ron got super fuckin' pissed off and just repeated the words
"EddieTrunkEddieTrunkEddieTrunkEddieTrunkEddieTrunk EddieTrunk" until the delay ran out and the show got booted off the air (Van Halen). I think it actually happened twice.

Ron truly did not give a fuck about SOMETHING but I just can't recall what the hell it was about.

I'm sure Mikeyboy will remember.

Anyway... for RON... that was a meltdown.

It was a bit.

O&A were having a huge war with D&M (NOT a bit), and each show was directed not to talk about the other, or they would be dumped.

R&F had the uncomfortable role of coming on after O&A, and all the "den shun" at the studio.

As a bit, Ron and Fez created a mock "Feud" with Eddie Trunk... and what you heard was Ron in mock defiance of "the man" saying he couldn't mention another show... so he was defying them by repeating "ED, EDDIE, EDDIE TRUNK, ED TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK, EDWARD TRUNK, ED TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK, EDDIE TRUNK...."

*dump to Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"

Oh, that was a fun time.

I was thrilled when D&M were picked up by WNEW, because I was able to finally get a consistent SU feed of the show everyday... and, of course, for introducing me to O&A and R&F.

It sucked that the first (and lasting) impression most WNEW listeners had of D&M were those godawful shows those first few weeks... and then once the "feud" started, I knew it wasn't going to end well.
