I never fell for the hope and change. He gets a D -
Folks, just remember something important for future use. The next time a Presidential candidate, Democrat OR Republican, says they're going to "change how things are done in Washington", please understand that they are completely full of shit. Bush didn't do it, Obama isn't going to do it. Thanks to the bribery of Sen. Ben Nelson, the grand jewel of Obama's Presidency, health care, went through in the most classic back-door, pork barrel type of deal.
So as far as the "change" promise: F-.

Stuck bt b at best, c at worst. He inherited a veritable shit-storm from the last administration, and has dealt with some issues well, others not so well. I feel it's hard to judge him on his policy until some of it is actually in place for some time and we see how some of the issues he's fighting for pan out currently.
Based on the last president, he's a b for me. However, if we're judging him against other great presidents, he's a clear C thus far. He can basically go in either direction from here, but it's the classic Republican destroys the systems he hates and spends more than anyone, then a Dem gets in and has to deal with it. I truly hope he pushes hard for the options he claimed to be after in his election bid. Some are in fact on the table, just pushed to the back due to the economy and other issues that took the front stage.

B- for black, but kind of on the light side
he was given a big basket full of shit to eat. he's done well in that perspective. my only beef is he has done absolutely ZERO about Outsourcing and is not telling the american people straight out that some of the leaders of our largest financial firms along with their friends in congress need to be dragged behind a pickup truck for a few miles. pissed on, and left for the turkey vultures like roadkill on the side of the road...

Giuliani: No domestic terror attacks under Bush
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100109/ap_on_en_tv/us_terrorism_giuliani
Bush replaced Clinton in the White House on Jan. 20, 2001, or almost eight months before the al-Qaida sponsored attacks
"We had no domestic attacks under Bush," Giuliani said. "We've had one under Obama."

To think we were told that after that dumb cowboy from Texas was out of office the entire world would love us because a young man with a funny name was elected

what was worse, obamas first or bush's last?
About the same, but that's only because Bush's first time was such a wild roller coaster ride down towards the end of the American empire. Hard to compare exactly, but more or less the same.

IMHO
Financial Bailout/Rescue - B+ Continued putting out the fires with the Bush/Paulson/Bernanke policies that made sense. Although it sucks that so much taxpayer money was fronted to bail a bunch of greedheads out of their own mistakes - there really wasn't much choice. A modern economy like ours requires a functioning financial system with global reach; if it had collapsed I'd bet that more than 30 -40% of the people on this board would be unemployed right now. The bleeding had to be stopped. Loses points for not putting guard rails up to prevent the next Wall St. casino from getting out of hand but it would actually work out better for everybody if there were a real bi-partisan attempt to figure out what controls would make sense (I'm not holding my breath).
Stimulus Package - A- Contained some pork but overall sensible, time-released spending to keep demand from collapsing in our economy without too much being forced through any one channel that would invite more than the usual abuse & corruption. (Anybody who is still on the "markets are always right" bandwagon and opposed the stimulus on theological grounds should read Bruce Barlett's columns in Forbes.)
Healthcare - B- Kudos for trying on what is probably the biggest domestic problem we have (Anybody who thinks our current system is fine and sustainable has got their heads buried in the sand) but should have showed more leadership in explaining the reality to the public. He lost control of the narrative by letting the Tea Partiers grab the mike and spew their nonsense and got rolled a little too much by the Democratic moderates but if all the Republicans were going to do was bitch & jeer from the sidelines I don't see that he had many alternatives. By getting almost everybody into the system and launching pilot programs to try to control costs we have a chance to get the system on a sustainable path before it crashes. We'll have to see how it goes.
Afghanistan - Incomplete I don't see any good choices; I'm praying he's picked the least bad one.
Iran - B It appears that he's tasked Hilary to get Russia and China on board to do something about the fuckheads in charge over there. Without those two on board anything we or Europe tries will fail. Hopefully a combination of outside pressure and internal heat from the heroes on the streets there will fracture the ruling coalition of mullahs and Revolutionary Guards and allow a reasonable government to emerge.
I guess that's enough bloviating for now.

kinda surprised to see of all the votes, 1/3 are Ds and 1/3 are Fs. Thought there would’ve been more votes towards the C range.
