I'm an Indiana Hoosiers football fan. We're a long-suffering bunch. A few years ago, we lost our inspirational head coach, Terry Hoeppner, to brain cancer. He used to read this poem to his players:

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow --
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out --
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit --
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

I realize this won't make a lick of difference, but I thought I should post it anyhow. There are lots of people who want to see you guys succeed. Don't quit, CT & Jivin. I realize this is very easy to say from the outside.

Anyhow, thanks for all of the entertainment. Your show is great, which should be considered high praise from a guy who as a rule does not like talk radio. I've listened to every podcast I have on my iPod multiple times. CT & Jivin really helps the day go by a little faster.

Here's a little about Coach. He took on the nearly impossible task of turning around a crappy Indiana football program with boundless energy and enthusiasm. At a time when it would have been very easy to just be cynical and give up, he never wavered in his belief that he could turn things around (both for the Hoosiers and in regards to his own battle with brain cancer). Personally, I believe he would have got the job done at IU, if he had lived long enough.

I think Jivin is going to have more time to do podcasts now...
