Was he on th Haitian relief show ?

I think that jerkoff Wycleaf Jean was the final performance.

I wonder if he charged them a $100K fee to peform.

I wish he was buried under a building instead of some family.

Jay Z was all right until he got money. Can't stand when they stop telling stories and start talking about their things.

Jay-Z is god mc.

He and his awesome performance with Alicia Keys before game 2 of the World Series is solely responsible for the Yankees being able to celebrate their 27th world championship.

And he is responsible for the death of auto-tune.

he is a good mc. he has enough money to pay any producer he wants to make his music sound hot and i respect that. he puts out some of the better hip hop today hence why its overplayed. he's certainly not the best though

Your reasoning here doesn't make any sense?

I'm not even a Jay-Z fan but to say he's not a good MC doesn't hold water.

Jay-Z's songs usually sound great in the background. The production, the samples, the non-lyrical parts of the songs are often terrific.
As a rapper? He's horrendous. He has almost no ability to keep proper rhythm. He's almost completely monotonic- there's almost no melody to anything he does. It's actually embarassing to watch him perform live. Pairing with an outstanding musician like Alicia Keyes only exposes his flaws all the more.

but yet noone in his close circle tells him. Beyonce who has a beautiful strong melodic voice absolutely knows it... guess love is deaf too - lol

I don't hear it as bad as you describe but I think I know what you are talking about. I've heard plenty of songs that he is on beat with the rhythem. I agree that he does have a kind of monotone voice. I think its more that his bars start to run into each other, but I think that comes from the more storytelling style he has. That comes from shit he learned from B.I.G. Who had perfected that shit. He'll never be as good as biggie though.
I like Jay-Z, actually mostly everything except the blueprint albums.

As far as live, I haven't seen him live in person. However I remember one live performance I saw on MTV a while back he did of "Song Cry" with an acoustic band. That was awsome. Jay even started to tear up and choke a little during it. You know some shit in that song is some shit he really dealt with in life.
