My favorite show as a kid, on prime time on CBS. Never missed an episode.
The first season was shot in b/w, and was a bit more serious..Dr. Smith was more evil in the beginning. Then color, a new theme song and even new clothes!
I always loved:
The Chariot
The force field
John Robinson's jet pack
Major Don West's temper
the cool elevator inside the Jupiter 2
The Gloop
The floating green woman: "Dr. Smith" LOL
Judy Robinson in the intergalatic beauty pageant
So many memories...

My favorite memory was when they went to the Hippie planet and the kids were kept in a trancelike state, dancing to this psychedelic music. A not-so subtle dig at the subculture of the day.

I also liked the episode where the Jupiter II went to the planet of Humanoid Vegetables. The giant talking carrot was too much to be believed.

But my favorite LIS memory was not in the show. I went to college with Major Don West's (John Goddard) nephew. In real life, Major West was married to a B-Actress named Susan Anspach. We were watching cable and came across a movie with her doing a topless scene. The rest of the semester we tormented him by saying what an excellent set of cans his aunt had.

The only true memory I have of the show was the robot.
I think it might be because my Dadmade a model of it.

Great episode James! The Robinson's were conned thinking that that planet was indeed "Alpha Centauri", the original destination of the Jupiter 2. When they landed, they realized they were suckered. Great music, clothing and dancing by Dr. Smith LOL!
