I just read that (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/43777)"McG" has been given the go-ahead by CW to do a pilot remake of La Femme Nikita.

It will apparently have nothing to do with the version that ran on USA from 1997 to 2001. “In this version, Nikita goes rogue and a new assassin is trained to replace her,” says James Hibberd of the Hollywood Reporter.

I never saw the USA series, but I loved the original movie. Seeing McG and CW tied to this leads me to believe I wouldn't like this version.

I really liked the USA series and the movie Point of no Return, I haven't gotten to see the original movie.

Point of No Return was a soulless remake.

I remember when I watched the original for the first time in college and I was blown away.

I highly recommend seeing it.

Yeah in all honesty I haven't seen PONR in about 15 years, when I was much younger and way into Bridget Fonda. I've heard nothing but good things about the original.

Hawaiian-born Maggie Q is in talks about taking the lead role in The CW's pilot remake of Nikita from Warner Bros. Television and McG's Wonderland, where a new "Nikita" is being trained to replace the original one after she goes rogue, reports THR. The potential hire of Maggie Q in the role of Nikita, signifies the highest-profile series role for an Asian actress on a broadcast drama series and the most prestigious CW minority casting since the network launched.
