"I know it sounds ridiculous to Main Street, but it's a hardship," Gary Goldstein, who runs Whitney Group, a financial-services job-search firm in New York, told the paper. What with multiple residences, private school tuitions, domestic employees, and various membership fees, a banker’s expenses can demand a lot of cash. That means bankers are increasingly doing something previously reserved for the rest of the public: going into debt.

Some good Jeffersonian quotes
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.

Corporations have ruined this country. They act out of self-interest, detached from any concern for true American ideals.
Of course, corporations are behind the libertarian movement. Because, guess who will benefit the most from less government interference? Hint- It's not Joe the Plumber.
Corporations have become global entities interfering with our government, our rights, and our ability to elect decent politicians.

Government redistribution of wealth going back to the 30's ballooning in the 60's with the great society where government would be the father figure. People feeling a need for entitlement, no self discipline or personal responsibility and that the government will take care of everything.

Immigration is the arrival of new individuals into a habitat or population. It is a biological concept and is important in population ecology, differentiated from emigration and migration.
: one that immigrates: as a : a person who comes to a country to take up permanent residence b : a plant or animal that becomes established in an area where it was previously unknown
a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
Your hatred aside, illegal aliens are immigrants. I know you don't want liberals humanizing illegals by using a neutral term. However, that doesn't change what illegal aliens are---immigrants.
I don't see any legal status in the immigrant definitions.

Illegal aliens are people who knowingly violate immigration laws with no regard for the laws of the particular country they are going to. Furthermore, Congress passed federal immigration law making it a crime to be here illegally, hiring and renting to illegal aliens, but that doesnt matter to you,
So being a person who wants to let everyone in, Again keep your doors unlocked, get rid of your fence and just have a free for all at your house. Leave the keys in the ignition and door unlocked in your car too. Come on arent we all migrants who just want to drive a car or live in someone elses house?

Youre comparing a speeding ticket to the serious crime of illegal immigration?
Corporations are always being penalized and exposed for their damage.
For example GE was penalized for PCB's in the Hudson
And yes if I get caught speeding I pay a summons and get points taken from my license. Why should an illegal alien who is arrested for a crime or drives without a license not be deported?

I'm curious which evil corporation signs your checks, pays your insurance, matches your 401k, etc.
You act like a corporation is a self-standing entity. It's not. A corporation is just a bunch of people working together to make it succeed and thereby getting pay raises, better benefits, etc. for themselves. Of course there will be leaders of said corporations who make a lot more than the ground floor workers, but because of the decisions these leaders make, the ground floor employees remain employed and their bills get paid. Of course the people in corporations are going to act in 'self interest' as that is their reason for existence in the first place.

So? Companies fail every day. Why punish the leaders because they made the right decisions in their early careers and rose to the top? They are out of a job too.
What is the alternative to a corporation? Unless you own a business and are a sole proprietor, you will work for a corporation and be at the whim of those at the top.

Here's some help. Corporations play all sides of the fence. They fight for regulations that help them, fight against regulations that hurt them. They pour money into the system to make it appear that "people" want these objectives, when it is the disembodied entity that wants it, in search of profits at all costs.
If there was virtually no government regulation of individuals or people. Who would enjoy this new freedom more? Individuals or corporations free from all regulations except the ones they financed to enact.
I know CATO is funded by individuals looking to free themselves from a paternalistic government. OR! Corporations pour money into their coffers to push the libertarian agenda.

corporations are just groups of people.
So happy to see that some people can be pacified with simple answers.
So corporations don't have their own identity?
A corporation can not sue? A corporation can not be sued? A corporation can not commit crimes?
The groups of people that make up corporations are all held liable for the actions of the corporation? I guess the question of piercing the corporate veil is inconsequential.
