Why is it ok to wear the jersey of the team you're going to see at a sporting event, but not ok to wear the shirt of the band you're about to see in concert?

Huh? What bands do you like? I must have 30 musty old Dead Tshirts in a drawer that I wore to each and every(100+) show. Now I do the same for Yonder Mountain String Band

Both show appreciation for the entertainment you are enjoying.

Teams wear uniforms. Bands, with very rare exceptions, don't.

Every show I go to is filled with people wearing the band shirt.

A past u2 concert the edge would wear a sports shirt from what ever town they played.

I saw Alan Parson Project in concert they were all so dressed up nice. They looked like early Beatles.

Dont listen to Ron. It is ok. The only problem I have is with people who are somehow wearing the shirts that theyre selling at that show that day. How does that work?

I did that once. I bought the shirt when I came into the arena, then put it on over my other shirt so that I didn't have to carry it. Damn the rules! Do what you want brother!

Best $53 you ever spent?

Problem solved for me. I've never owned a band/concert t-shirt. I do have a shirt from a blues festival. I can't remember if I put it on that day. I might have, since there was a bad downpour of rain that day, and it's a warm shirt.

$53?!? What kinda concerts you going to? Of course, this was in the mid 90's. The shirt was about $24, if I remember correctly. The only concert shirts I buy now are at my friend's shows, and that's to support a starving artist.

Maybe you should just give him a sandwich.

For sure do what you want. If doubling tees is comfortable then rock it. I rarely buy merch at shows. Especially since the infernets. If I did it was on the way out. But I know how long those lines get.

Probably should, he's a skinny bugger.

On second thought, buy a shirt, too. And give it to him.

Its only allowed if you are in the "KISS Army". Face painting is optional but encouraged.

I used to love going to see the Dead, Phish, the Allman's, Panic, etc...in the 90s but I hated the fan's approach to being clever with respect to T-Shirt design:

...Oh, I get it---you took the 'NIKE' out and replaced it with a cool Phish song title. You are too funny, Maaaahn.
