Dave started today's show in the other room at Fez's behest. What do you think?

no,dave wants to come out of the closet, let him
I like when Dave joins the show in progress...prefer to hear the hosts kick it off...

I can go either way on this.
I like when they get into little quick conversations about the Ichiban, so when dave is there usually it is just him and Ron talking about it.
If fez can step up and discuss, then I dont care if it is him or dave. If fez is silent and it is all ron and some shitty caller, then I think Dave needs to be in the room.
that 1st break really sets the tone for the show

Def not.. wen it's just ron and fez, the conversations suck a dick. Ok I get it it's the ron and FEZ show but fez isn't funny at all. Very annoying actually and his views blow the same way he should. Dave brings a lot to the show and is very funny. Ron and dave have way more chemistry than ron and fez
This isn't Dave's decision. Fez can do what he wants.

Anything to stop the quiet except to cry Fez.

I really like Dave starting in the booth, and then migrating into the studio later. It lets Fez get a foothold in the show and some talk time. Then you can bring Dave in and change the tone of the show. Ron doesn't have to talk about just Fez topics, or just Dave topics the entire time. It's a good compromise until Fez competes with Dave for mic time, which is the ultimate goal (not phasing one or the other out completely.)
Also, I've noticed that with Dave starting in the booth Ron jaws with Buddy Chris Stanley a little more. Anything that brings variety to the show is a good thing.

dave is a funny motherfer no doubt. but i've noticed that when a subject is brought up that dave feels he knows alot on, he bulldozes in and runs with it, and fez for the most part will drop back. i don't know if this is fezs' old habit from being the 3rd mic on ron and ron, or what. pepper seems to be good about not hogging the mics, he will put in his 2 cents and get off to let others talk. dave sometimes doesn't seem to know when to get off. the shows name sakes "ron and fez" need to be the primary show kick off voices and the others brought in and out as needed for the funny. fez seemed to be really good the days dave wasn't there, i don't know if it's because the subject could be turned his way or what. but he was noticably better acting when he wasn't having to compete for 2nd mic with dave. that's my stupid thoughts on the matter, as they are.

Absolutely, if it helps Fez out.

What he said.
again...today illustrates to me that the better dynamic is Ron and Fez opening the show with a quick blip from Tanley or Dave...Dave is great (he really cracks me up), but his best position is coming into the show already in progress...

As long as he contributes to the show it does not matter where he is located.

Dave continues to be one of the luckiest people in radio, given that he has been granted the opportunity to become a part of The Ron and Fez Show in any capacity.
Not even because being a part (any part) of The Ron and Fez Show was his dream when he lived in his car, but solely because he is a part of The Ron and Fez Show. He is lucky Ron and Fez allow him to do anything for any salary or no salary, from offering mic time, to producing bits, to licking (his own) boogers off the console. I like Dave.

This could be benificial for dave, by relaxing him. Could do wonders for his timing (rushing)..... hope it helps his pitchieness too.
This could really help his participation w/ sam and dave.

ron can interact with anybody and make it funny if he wants. crucify me, but fez has been "back" for a long time. its just a matter of whether or not ron chooses to play off him. im a fan of the ron AND FEZ show, so i voted to keep dave off at the start. not because i dont love dave. i do. but because it forces ron to actually interact with fez and do comedy. and no matter how great the ron & dave chemistry is...it doesnt touch what ron & fez can have when both parties are motivated.
But, Dave is funnier than Fez

When Fez was in the other room, he did better. I'm sure it looked insane, but he seemed to like being in the other room. Why not put him in the other room again?

I think Fez should cry a lot more on the show and talk about his problems as well.

It seems that when Fez does talk now, it is only about who he hates, what he panics about, his toenails, or that he doesn't know anything about the topic: movies, books, art, music, sports.
He hates Ethan Hawke because of a 17 year old performance, but he complains that people critique his horrible performance for the last 4 or so years.
I have a choice to not listen, but than I can't listen to Ron.

It' even getting weird to me when Fez talks about his problems. Like Friday when talking about cereal. It's almost sounds like he's bragging when he talks about what makes him crazy. It strengthens the argument that he won't ever get better 'cause he like being this way. It's all he has. His inner demons seem to be his only company outside of work.

That is why I think he will never get better.
Instead of saying "I know that food being on the floor for 5 seconds is safe, but in my mind it bothers." He says," I know that scientific studies have been done, I refuse to accept them and will hold onto my erroneous beliefs."
He projects so much anger at other people. Is it a wonder he hates himself. The first thing the shrink should tell him is work on being more accepting of the flaws in others. In turn, you will accept and embrace your own "flaws." Instead, he rages every day that Clooney is horrible for his charity work, that Ethan Hawke is a horrible actor based on one movie. He is not trying to get better. He fears moving to the next step, so he has dug his heels in.

To give you an idea about my loyalty to this show, I have defended Al Dukes when he was the most hated person here, and Black Earl when he was the most hated person here.
And Fez's attitude has completely turned me off.
I agree with other posters and I've said it before - Fez is absolutely not open to change or evolving himself. That's why his therapy isn't working. Actually, it's one of two things. Either:
1) Fez isn't open to change which makes therapy worthless no matter who the doctor is, OR:
2) The therapist has advised Fez to stand up for himself, which Fez has mistranslated into treating everyone who wrongs him like crap. Or taking stances on things that mean a lot to him and being so biased that he refuses to see other angles.
He has put Mikey D on his fecal roster for going on 5+ years now because of a stupid social mistake. That's all.
A bigger man - a BETTER PERSON - would realize, especially with the many times that Mikey D has reached out and Ron has talked to Fez about it that it's time to put water under the bridge.
Let me put it in terms Fez can understand: Even Bret Hart started working with Vince again.
I don't think Fez is emotionally strong enough to handle the type of change he needs, to realize that he isn't the angel he portrays himself as. As much as O&A have turned off the audience, they still can bring content. The Steve C "Favorite Things" bit yesterday had me rolling.
Fez is bringing NOTHING to the table except neuroses.
And of course, he's enabled because a lot of people are either blindly kissing Fez's butt or just saying "aw, poor Fezzy."
My solution? Fez needs a hiatus from the show. He needs to get hungry again, to realize what a good thing he has. He really needs to shake up his life and his lifestyle, because ALL FEZ HAS is the show. That's it.

Fez doesnt have to like anybody, or be convinced to like somebody. Its up to him. If he wants to hate Clooney, Hawke or Mikey D who gives a shit? He doesnt have to work with those people. Just because Fez's reasons for thinking something cant stand up to Rons cross-examination doesnt mean Fez is crazy for thinking it.

Yes it does.
It shows why he hates himself. Any little flaw is a reason for complete hatred of a person.
Fez has a little flaw, so he has complete hatred for himself. He says someone's name wrong and years later is still anger about it. He treats himself like he treats others. You must be perfect or you are worthless.
The way you judge others is the way you judge yourself. If you judge people on their superficial qualities that is how you judge yourself. If you judge people on their character that is how you judge yourself.
So, Fez needs to work on changing how he judges himself. You start that by accepting others as flawed but beautiful people.
If Fez was happy with himself, he could hate anyone he wanted. But, his hatred of MickeyD, Clooney, Hawke, FMJeff, people talking on the elevator, etc are symptoms of his problem. Which his shrink should be working with him.

After the heart attack it was clearly very difficult for Fez to perform his character with all that reality of death and age staring him down. Im sure some part of Fez is lonely and wants companionship, but overall I think he's exactly who he wants to be. Hes content with his extended family rather than starting one of his own. He doesnt breakdown on air anymore. And hes back to having wacky opinions and beefs. Not just being silent on air.
The biggest change is that Ron has Dave to agree with him 99% of the time, and make him look like some type of intellectual for knowing what basically boils down to music and movie trivia. If Ron and Fez went back to terrestrial radio tonight--and had bosses who didnt want Dave on air as much--you would hear Ron and Fez interacting and doing a hysterical comedy radio show. Not a few hours of everyone telling Fez that he's wrong and crazy for having strange opinions.
I love the show either way. And I think Dave is amazingly funny. I cant imagine the show without him....aw fuckit. I forget my point. I guess Im just saying that Fez has always been "crazy" and its resulted in a great show that Ive enjoyed forever.

Yeah, it took years of advanced education to discern that Fez has psychology issues. The untrained mind might miss the clues.

Seriously? Put Dave up against any other person on 202 besides the 5 'on air' people. Who else brings more on air stuff to the channel? Until he was sort of banned he also added a TON to O&A. He is the most underpaid staff member on 202 if you ask me.

Have you ever seen Dave in studio? The few times I was in Xm and saw him he never stopped running around working - on or off mic. He doesn't relax when he is at work as far as I can tell.

I have seen him in studio a couple of times. It is always a visual performance that adds to his insane audio.
