But teaching the ratifying of the constitution and the founding of America is pretty important. I would think you would want to cover it in more detail in high school, and then at it's deepest in college.

Pretty much the same thing here. Pre-civil war American history was taught in 7th and 8th grade.

Later periods were taught in later years, although my school never had world or ancient history. I had to wait until college to take those courses.

And when you think about it, why would they teach you the same course twice in high school.
