I'd rather the "Lay Lady Lay" picture book

Ok fine. But referring to Desire as a late 70's "meh" album, is curb-stomp worthy. Did I read that wrong? What the holy fuck? Desire is a masterpiece.

You do know he went through a weird born again phase right?
He also might be the drug consumed king of all time. We should start a poll.

Oh i titally disagree. It has some good songs, like mozambique and hurricane, but there's about 20 minutes right in the middle of it that I need to skip everytime.
I've always seen it as the leftovers to Blood on the Tracks. Like he got out all his brilliant stuff there, and just didnt have anything left. Also, he was starting the Rolling Thunder tour at the time too, which didn't seem to help his songwriting any (I dont think Street Legal is that good either). Even though I am not a Jesusy person, I really like Slow Train Coming. .

Youre missing the crucial 20 minutes in the middle.
You skip 20 minutes in the middle? Black Diamond Bay, Isis, Mozambique, and One More Cup of Coffee are up there among Dylan's best ever.

Why can't we just all sit down and listen to Infidels and try to get along?

but the 3 songs after One More Cup of Coffee are stinkers. And one of them is 10 minutes long

Stinkers? I don't see it. The only weak track for me is the rambling "Joey" (I always skip over that mess).
Otherwise, a damn near perfect album with a completely different sound than anything before or since.
Ever check out The Bootleg Series Vol. 5: Live 1975? Several live versions of the same material. Some tracks surpassing the album's take. Brilliant stuff there, mate.

Shall no one come to my rescue and back me up on Desire being a mediocre album?
