At least (http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2010/02/05/taylor-lautner-expands-his-career-by-landing-superhero-role-stretch-armstrong/) it isn't Shia Laboof.

At least Shia has screen presence. I saw the New Moon and TL struck me as being a male Megan Fox.

Yes. That boy has no charisma. He looks like a soap opera him-bo too. He's perfect for those hilarious Twilight movies though.

Another terrible dwon-syndrome-like actor making it big. Following the footsteps of Nic Cage, Josh Hartnett, that other faggot from twilight, etc. Ron said something last week about how if 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' was cast today, it would prob be horrendous do to only "pretty faces with no talent" being cast. That's what we have today unfortunately.
Why does this deserve it's own thread anyway?

I think the question isn't who should play Stretch Armstrong or why Taylor Lauter has a movie career. The question is, why are they even making a movie about Stretch Armstrong? Is there a big demand for a back-story on his life? Are they totally out of ideas of ways to make money off of 12 year old boys?

I thought the same thing. Does every popcorn movie have to be based on a comic book, a Children's story, or some other preexisting piece of popular culture? Can't we just make up new stories anymore?

That is a bit of cautious optimism I'm taking out of Avatar being such a massive hit: yeah, the story itself is unoriginal, but at least it's not based on some toy from the '80s.

If he ruins the great franchise that is Stretch Armstrong, I'll be super pissed.

He will. His voice hasn't caught up to his body yet & he still sounds like he's 13.
A female Megan Fox indeed. That was a perfect comparison.
