Since alot of movies were originally adapted from books. Has anyone ever found a movie that was as good if not better than the book? If so, tell me. I liked the movie Trainspotting and I think it was as good as the book. I know that when they make a book into a movie they are working with a limited time element and some things get left out of the movie. In this case, the director was true to the author's story and characters. It was a good book and movie...Irvine Welsh wrote the book.

"The Cider House Rules." All of John Irving's other books were pretty bad in movies: "Hotel New Hampshire", "World According to Garp", and especially "Simon Birch," which was loosely based on "A Prayer for Owen Meany"

The Green Mile.
The books were too wordy and often repeated due to the chapter format. The movie was excellent.

Jurrasic Park and the Lost World...they were great books, but the movies did a great job butchering what was written. Jurrasic Park was maybe based on 70 percent of the book, so it wasnt that bad. While the Lost World book and Movie are very dissimiliar, maybe like 30 percent of what is written is in movie

uhhh... Sheep, they haven't even filmed the movie yet. How would you know it's as good as the book? I mean, it's being brought to you by the same ppl who ruined the Grinch.
