I don't see an experience-based change of opinion as being hypocritical.

I do, however, think that Dave's opinion on depictions on gay love in movies changes depending on who he is trying to impress or offend in studio.

i don't see how the two opinions are even inconsistent. in the first he says genetically removing the chance of illness would reduce the bond between parents and children, while in the second he rails at the flaws of the health care system. they're really two utterly different discussions.
