‘Idol’ finalist dumped following news leak

Earlier this month, a list of 20 of the Top 24 finalists on American Idol was leaked to various blogs, and now People.com reports Idol has taken action against one of the breaches of confidentiality.

One of the boys on the initially published list, Michael Lynche (a.k.a. Big Mike), was reportedly booted from the Fox singing competition after his father told a local Florida paper, The St. Petersburg Times, that his son had made the Top 24.

The disclosure violated Idol rules that state singers and their families must keep the results of the Hollywood round mum until they’re broadcast.

Idol gave Lynche’s spot in the Top 24 to another contestant over the weekend, says The New York Post.

For its part, Fox has declined to comment on the report.

If the reports are true, it won’t be the first time an Idol contestant has been kicked off the show.

Last season, Felicia Barton replaced Joanna Pacitti in the Top 36. At the time Fox only said she was “ineligible to continue in the competition.” However, there had been reports that Pacitti had connections to executives at 19 Entertainment, Idol’s production company.

I was in chicago this past weekend and absolutely loved it. I really didnt want to like deep dish pizza as much as I did and obviously the close proximity to the worlds greatest cupcake was a huge plus.

Italian beef and polish sausage were incredible. Also the crowd cheers through the entire national anthem at blackhawks games, which is probably the coolest sports tradition that ive ever seen in person.
