Does anyone here use a Steam mop, specifically the Shark Steam Pocket Mop?
Liz's pregnancy has given her a super-sharp sense of smell, and I can't use chemicals to clean floors w/o her getting sick. I really want to clean the floors. Can anyone recommend or not?

we use it and I recommend it. My wifes pregnant also and the super sense of smell seems almost universal. It sounds awful she can't go near certain things without dry heaving.

I had to stop using the Clorox bleach pucks in the toilets because Liz would go apeshit. She could smell them a mile away.

yeah my wife bought a milk and honey scented hand soap, I find this scent repulsive in general but due to her super smell and the dog knocking the soap over spilling the soap everywhere my wife has refused to use that bathroom. i even spent a few hrs. bleaching and scrubbing the floor but she still smells it.
Whats amazing is that the second the babies out the super senses are gone.
Wouldn't a Shark Steam Pocket Mop smell like stink bombs?

I'm not big on this whole movement that every surface in your house has to be sanitized at all times. It's the floor; clean it with hot water and a towel until the sense of smell returns to normal.

Yes, but once the baby starts crawling, the steam mop will help keep the floors clean and chemical free as well.
Besides, I like the fact that it's dry within 10 seconds.

Since this pregnancy started, I've changed my shampoo six times, replaced my soap/bodywash twice, insisted the Clorox toilet pucks be fished out of the toilet tanks, refused to continue using the master bathroom, freak out (and randomly wake up from a sound sleep with the worst stomachache) whenever the master bathroom door is open even a crack and can scent out a smoker from 300 feet away.
Don't get me started on the way I used to react to raw chicken.
Yeah, I could totally live without the super sense of smell and am SO very thankful that it's not going to last beyond Baby's arrival.

You are a master of the obscure comeback, sir.

When the last time your kitchen floor was thoroughly cleaned was before you moved in, even those of us who agree with you start to wig out a bit. (Usually, I am right there with you, but even I will admit it's gross.)

No, I was using the swiffer wet mops to clean and you chewed me out.

I am so far from germphobic, I like the ease of the steam mop and as tenbats said it dries almost immediately.

I have a Haan steam mop, and it works great. I should use it more and it is easy, so I have no real excuse. But you can really feel the floor is sanitized after you are finished. I used it with an attachment on my carpet too, and it kills mold and anything else. I think Haan is better quality than Shark stuff. I got mine on QVC. They also sell them in the Korean market near me too.

Yeah, 'cause that scent nauseated me even before I was preggo.

spilled a glass of red wine on my off-white/sandy colored rug last night. sprayed it all with Resolve and then I used a damp string mop. had surprisngly good results... i still see a lite pink spot or two. have to hit it again a little today
it was the first time I ever mopped a rug though... kind of interesting

Glad I got one. It is a lot easier than scrubbing the ceramic tile floor we have.

For what it's worth, I got it, and it's pretty damn awesome. Really cleaned the kitchen floor.
