Nathan Fillion makes the show watchable. It's probably the most unrealistic "cop" show I've ever seen (they're the best dressed cops I've ever seen), but the chemistry between Fillion and Katic is really good. Fillion is just hysterical, he deserves a better show, but it's a good hour for a Monday night.
PLUS... he did the greatest homage to various past shows (including his) in recent memory, in this clip:
