If you come into a small amount of pot and want to use it only occasionally, what is the best method of storage of it so that it preserves its freshness?

I store my "tobacco accesories" and "herbal blends" like I do my cigars. I have a humidor but I will put them in tupperware with a cotton ball or paper towel in the top to keep the original smell and not cross too much with my Partagas aroma. I keep the humidity at about 80%

This is good for long term storage, not for pulling out and putting back in to the freezer consantly.
I would instead advise putting it in to your vegetable crisper in the refridgerator if you are storing for about two weeks of use. You could put in tupperware or just a ziplock bag this way.

Get a tobacco humidor. I used to have one that worked great.
You can always go with the old standard Mason Jar, with a small slice of orange peel. Just don't leave the orange peel in there forever, because mold can develop (unless you want a totally different high).

I remember in high school and the early part of college people used to throw an orange peel in their bag to keep stuff moist. Havent seen anyone do that in years.
woops. just saw Moscones post...

A rack makes good use of dead space and keeps your cabinet space available for other items.

I also use the oven when not in use.

A baby carrot also works, and can be used to restore moisture to dried-out greens.

ONly just now hearing of the orange peel. Wouldn't it impart a wierd citrus essence to the rest of the bag's contents?

Absolutely. Just use a mason jar. I've never had a problem using one.

I keep the big stash in a otter box with cigar humidifier and the traveling stash in a little nalgene container. The fridge/freezer is a mistake (for the same reason you don't store coffee there) is it drys it out. I'd never store it in my cigar humidor since its bound to leach off odors and tastes that I don't want in my cubans. As for rehydration I'd go with a mason jar and a paper towel lightly moistened.

Some small mom & pop smoke shops will sell you a cigar box for a couple bucks. Wet a paper towel and put it into a ziplock bag. Keep the bag open, but put it into the cigar box with the bag of weed. Not that I would condone the use of an illegal substance, mind you. Cuz drugs are bad.
