I was just watching Sportscenter and Scott Van Pelt was to interview "Brian Westbrook." Its a phone interview. "Brian" says "first Scott how are you?" Right away it sounds like a goofy white guy and nothing like Westbrook. Eventually after about 15 seconds, which included things like "Coach Andy Reid," the caller says "I am going to spend my time worshiping Howard Stern's prostate."
I have no idea how this can happen. Someone is going to lose their job over this.

I caught it and i lol'ed. Steve Levy broke out in a sweat. I wish they would have taken the Ronnie B approach and let him baba booeyed.

I don't understand the funny part about mentioning Howard Stern's prostate. Too wordy. I prefer the stealth prank where Stern is mentioned and the caller is able to keep going for a few seconds before the producer drops the call.
I like the idea of a viewer who doesn't know Howard Stern being confused by a seemingly normal call being cut off suddenly.

mikeyboy, maybe you should delete all audio from before 2005. Hearing Good Fez is depressing as fuck.

It was Captain Janks. He called ESPN as the agent for Brian Westbrook and set up the call. They wanted to do it on tape but he insisted it be live so that Westbrooks comments wouldn't be edited. Then he gave them his number and ESPN called it thinking it was Westbrook. It was a brilliant call.

That was great. Im surprised how bad VanPelt and Levy froze up. Of all the networks Id think ESPN has the most capable people to handle shit like that. They're live alot of the time and they should be used to being thrown a wrench now and then. VanPelt looked like he got kicked in the nuts.

Very true. But with the amount of times that they have technical difficulties or deliver breaking news I figured theyd be better thinking on their feet. Its crazy how the the simple mention of Howard Stern still freezes and panics some people. Either way, hilarious.
