I can't find a thread for this, but merge away if there's already one besides the locked one on visiting the show live. I know we can't really visit the show anymore, but I'd like to take the Buddays a gift when I'm in NYC over Memorial Day weekend. I'll get in on Friday morning. What's the process for sending a gift up to the studio? Thanks.:help:

Yeah, I thought about that. I'll email Dave a little bit ahead just to make sure. I didn't want to email now, because they may not know their schedule yet.

I like the way you think. But I don't think Fezzie's poor heart could take it.

Take Ron some cigars. And Fez? Take him cigars. Dave and Hicks want cigars. The little red-headed girl. I'm going to guess she wants cigars...

The security in their new building is pretty insane too, so make sure you do email ahead or you won't get past the front doors of the building.

I've got all kinds of ideas, there's alot of cool stuff made around here. I don't think I'll bring cigars because I don't know what's good and what's dry. Beisdes, everybody brings cigars.

I will be visiting NYC on May 27-28. I would like to take some much deserved gifts to the show while I'm in town. I'm thinking cigars. First, is the show going to be live during those days? Second, I know from reading that it is very difficult to get up to see the buddays so can someone provide a little help to this poor rube from Alaska. Thanks in advance

Don't bother with gifts for them. If you have extra cash and want to make a contribution in their name, just send like 100 sea gulls down to the gulf to help soak up the oil spill.

seriously, why bother taking gifts in? Both men make tons of cash, and in Fez's case, the gifts won't even be appreciated (see: FM Jeff). Either save your money or make a donation to the Stanley McDonald Fund, someone related to the show who could actually use the money.

You should bring them something indicative of Alaska, I'm sure they haven't had many people visit from there, and may have never visited there themselves. Probably some kind of local artisanal product that they probably would never get their hands on otherwise.
Dont bring your gift in a cooler, and then leave the cooler sitting on the curb while you bring your bags into the hotel.

I guess the consensus is that I need to contact Dave to see if I can meet up. Can someone please pm me a good email address for him. Also, I'm still trying to confirm that they will be live on the 27-28th of May. Thanks in advance for all your help.

you more than anyone should know that 2002 matty is very, very different than 2010 matty.
2002 matty was looking to break into radio and was eager to please.
2010 matty is experienced and jaded.

They're not going to be there this weekend. Boo. But I did get a very nice reply from Dave. At least now I don't have to try and fit something else into my luggage.
