After you lay it down on wax (or hard drive), you ever get addicted to listening to the track. I know it seems a little self obsessed but i finished a song and have been listening, enjoying, critiquing my latest song for over an hour. You do that too?

Most of the music I make is shit.
I have about two albums worth of songs and occasionaly will listen to them at night as I'm trying to fall asleep. I do this to see if it's any good or if I think I could ever 'market' it.
I've decided that I doubt any labels would ever want my lo-fi shit. Oh well.

Absolutely.
In fact, the only music i find myself listening too (other than background ambient music while working) is my bands music (in the car, its always on 202). Im constantly listening for weak spots and areas needing improvement. I dont think its so much self absorbed kinda shit, but rather just pride in your art!
Of course, it helps that the music they put out today is shit, so its not like your missing out on much

When I was regularly playing in a band, we recorded every live performance. and as dino does I would listen for weak spots, but also high points as well. I have tons of these tapes lying around and I listen to them occasionally now.
