He should find a regular sports guy. A calm to his storm. ESD brings a lot of fanaticism, need a more objective person to balance it.

Missed his show but as an in general, about ESD and sports, I totally agree.

He's opinionated but often wrong. Should be a good show.

Definitely agree. And someone with some college sports knowledge. Unlike most guys back east, Dave likes college sports, but his knowledge is very limited.

Agreed. Davey Red doesn't necessarily even know much about sports at all but his show will be very entertaining.
In listening to Dave talk about sports and he is wrong ALLLLLL the time.

Fair comment. I already called and was on the R&F Show and offered Dave to be my partner on my sports talk radio show (MuscleSport Radio) that I have had since Sept. 2008.
I am definitely the 'straight man' whenever I have had co-hosts, but can also bring it if necessary. Red McDonald is definitely more of the Mad Dog type and it would be a great pairing.
I could just hear it now. Red & I going back and forth on the impact that Antonio Cromartie will have on the Jets this year and how many more kids with different women he's going to spawn in NY.
C'mon, Dave - I'm your guy!

I always thought that Sirius/XM would be a great platform to do comedic Sportscasting for live games. I know that the logistics and rights issues would be ridiculous, but how great would it be (especially after hearing the live Oscars show) to have Dave and a semi-straight man (Ron B?) calling a football game?

good first post, ive thought for a long long time that me and my friends would be much better announcers for michigan football games than anything on network TV, as long as it was an XL channel. not only are we knowledgeable but sometimes we get each other laughing so much its a shame that its limited to my livingroom

Hey Disneyspy, thanks for the welcome!
Thats pretty much where my idea came from - living in Buffalo with a horrendous football team, I thought that a hardcore, uncensored play-by-play would be a great way to add some fun to the games. What group of younger, drinking sports fans doesnt want to hear the announcer yell "Trent Edwards really took it in the shitter on that play. The Jets defense has been halfway up his ass the entire game." :drunk:
It would be nearly impossible to actually do this due to copyrights and whatnot, unfortunately.
