View Full Version : Worst Twist Ending Ever?

Maybe the worst thing about the new movie "Remember Me", other than the fact that Robert "Sparkly Vampire" Pattinson is attempting to play a heterosexual, might be the ending. Reviews are kind of leaking it already, but I'll spoiler text it in case you wanna go see this homo act like he has any interest in any woman for an hour and a half:

So, despite all odds, and despite Pattinson's flaming homosexuality, the young couple get together at the end. And he gets a job that will provide for them both.

His job is in the World Trade Center in New York.

Oh, and his first day is: September 11, 2001.

Why, yes, he does die in the attack, why do you ask?

Holy shit.

When Sirius took over XM.

A shitty twist ending to what R.B. called the "wild west days" of satelitte radio.

It will be interesting to see how critics handle this. I know that usually they hate to actually give away the ending of a movie, but this is an ending that at least some of them will probably find personally distasteful and exploitive, and may feel that they need to speak up about.

It'll be fun, whichever way it goes.

Fuck twist endings. 99% of the time, they don't stand up to a second viewing.

I'd rather watch fucking Transformers than some bullshit, illogical, cop-out, "twist" ending.

great call on the twin peaks

i want to throw in for honorable mention:

roseanne's series ending was something along the lines of:
the whole last season being what roseanne was writing about in her basement. they had never won the lottery. that dan had some kind of heart attackand was in a coma/dead. darlene's baby died. there were some other things that i cant remember.

I never liked St. Elsewhere's ending, implying the whole damn series was the dream of an autistic kid. Fuck that.

I'm undecided on Battlestar Galactica's ending, which reveals everything in the show happened 150,000 years ago, the "Earth" they found is actually this one, and we're all half-Cylon. Actually, that's kind of cool, if I could meet more chicks that looked like Numbers Six and Eight.

I just want to know if the final scene has him watching the jet coming right for his office and then fades to black with the impact.

It's apparently not quite that exploitive: it just ends with him walking to his new job, noting it's on the 86th floor (which is about where the plane actually hit, I think), and something shows you that it's Sept. 11, 2001. Then later, of course, it gets all weepy when his chick finds out he's dead.

I do wonder why he's starting a new job on a Tuesday, though.

Not uncommon to work a shortened first week. My current job I started Tuesday sept 8 last year, though that was due to labor day.
